What’s the latest updates on:

Tristan Casas? Toast
Romy Gonzalez? Maybe mid July
Patrick Sandoval? Throwing off mound.

Kutter Crawford? Throwing off flat ground

Don't expect any back for a while.

It looks as if the Red Sox will get less use from Crochet than they got from Sale.

He feels like this is something special -- I just heard him say it again on the only NESN commercial shown more than Colin about to bite the orange slice-NOOO!!!!

What evidence supports this?

Sale started 115 games in 7 seasons, including the lost 2020 season.

33.3 starts x 6 years and 12 starts for 2020= 212 possible starts. (54%)

Crochet has started 38 times out of 44 (86%.) If he missed his next 26 starts, which would go into 2027, he'll be even with Sale.

he's not even throwing right now. i'd be surprised it he pitches again this year.

We got 2 full seasons of elite pitching from Sale (2017 and 2018).  I don’t think they will get that from Crochet.  His arm angle was dropped in ST most likely indicative of some damage to his pitching arm.  I hope we get vintage Crochet for the duration of his contract, but I am not optimistic about it.  Sale’s arm troubles started 3 years later than Crochet’s.

What's interesting in this story is that Crochet skipped the WBC ostensibly to protect his arm for the long season.  Did he know something wasn't quite right in ST?

We wouldn't tell that from the Opening Day win but Garrett went down the slippery slope soon after.

How long can you ride shoulder inflammation before you better be looking deeper?

his 2026 stats are some of the worst in the league. something definitely wrong. i've got a felling he's going to make Sale look like an Iron Man..

Why will he not pitch this year? His lat strain?

he clearly has something wrong and he doesn't seem to be progressing at all.

His setback was a different issue, I believe.

Casas is still an unknown is is just out. No timetable. No baseball activities.

Romy is working his way back. The plan is June barring setbacks. LOL.

Sandoval. C'mon man...

Crawford has no change in timetable, but is dealing with flexor soreness so who knows. I wouldn't count on him even if he starts pitching in WOO.

They greatly increased his IP last season and just figured it'd be fine. Ridden hard and put away wet.

Lat tightness. Getting a precautionary MRI. Not deemed serious. 😄

"Not deemed serious", infamous words applied to every RS injury im recent years.  Then something happens in the rehab process that makes it worse or creates a new ailment

There is some real incompetence going on at the medical and/or physical training levels.

The execs do what they always do. Downplay and lie as if they knew anything

Sox PR spin every injury to make it seem less serious than it could be. When the player ends up being more injured, it makes the player look fragile or weak because they can't make the initial timeline.

Not deemed serious is kind of relative, imo.  If Story is out 2 weeks or 2 months, I don't care.  Crochet, OTOH, ...........

Not always.  Sometimes it is the medical group that is incompetent.

Not deemed serious, they still have 4 starters and can get bulk innings out of Bello. Need to figure out who the sacrificial LH Opener should be though.

Trade for Bernardino? He still has a MiLB option somehow.

Are you denigrating the crack medical staff?

Are you implying that I am still annoyed at our crack medical staff because they allegedly told Buchholz in 2011 that 'we don't MRI boo-boos'?

TBF, Buchholz probably just did have a boo-boo and missed 90 days. He did get IL'd for napping while holding his baby.

Famous last words, I know!

The point made is that it's not the original injury that he seems to not be able to recover from that Duran the Man was saying looks like a season ending and career altering injury.

The same thing happens here in HOU with every Astro injury, and they have more than us.

Hard to say what the outcome of any of his injuries are until we see him on the mound again.

He certainly could miss the whole season and become Chris Frail II, but I asked Duran the Man for evidence on why he thinks he will/might become him.

When a player like Roman Anthony tells the media his precise medial diagnosis that directly contradicts what the front office says, who should we believe: a fine upstanding young man or an administration that spews lies daily to the populace?

And why wouldn't I believe quotes from actual doctors -- unless they're hired specifically by the mob to spin cover-ups after removing bullets from button men or dead brain tissue from demented dons?

None. He's hard to project since his career is just starting.
