Bello starting followed by Weissert is a recipe for disaster and sure enough they played it out perfectly.

Extremely tired of Bello and now his Bozo hairstyling.   What was he shaking his head at when Tracy came to get him out ?     Maybe his entire lack of focus and ability.  Bell-boy is really a problem head case .

Really sucks that it’s not even May and the season is already over. It didn’t have to be this way. The talent was out there and available to sign, but the cheapskate owner wouldn’t open his purse. But hey! Full throttle, right?

We tell you all the time that you are just way too optimistic in general

Most people here thought they would make the playoffs. I kept posting that it’s a fourth place team and no playoffs. I think the Flops may still beat out the Rays.

Good News !   Crochet only needs a 15 day rest not a shoulder reconstruction.   The positives regarding this group are amazing .

Hard to see the opportunity to turn this "lost" season around in any meaningful way

Told ya the game is OVAH!

Why is Breslow still on the payroll?

Betting wise it's over when it becomes 8-1, and that's the ONLY reason I am paying any attention at all to today's game.

Two more years in the minors in development would have been best for Anthony.  Duran is better but he's been here longer.  Only Abreu is competent.

There is a -0- chance that the best prospect in baseball was going to stay in the minors two more years.  None.

Horrendous at bat by Duran, using the third or fourth batting stance he's tried in the last week or so, all equally ineffective.

Well they should all worry less about stupid crap like launch angle, and actually watch the pitch and barrel up the damn baseball. 26 year olds with ZERO time hitting big league pitchers, telling people who actually have to go out there  and perform against big league pitchers is flawed thinking.

With virtually 20% of the season ( 31 games) played and most regular position players above or very near 100 PA's you can draw a few conclusions .  They simply were not ready for the season, they got Cora et alia fired and the clubhouse is likely a quiet place .   Tracy inherits a dead dog and is supposed to make it stand up and bark.

This has become really bad

i'd send Bello to the pen and bring up Bennet or Anderson. the season is over anyway. might as well see what they have, because Bello damn sure doesn't.  good thing we gave Bello that extension. 😂 Henry is gonna be paying him $19 million in 2029 and he won't even be in baseball. 😂😂😂

Minor league operation with a thrown together coaching staff. Laughing stock of MLB, and run by the 3 stooges?

Why not send Bello to the AAA team for a couple of weeks, like last year, to help him regain his confidence? It worked well last year, so why not this season? His morale seems to be at rock bottom.

Outside of Cro Man, and Gray on the injured list no reason.

You also said 90 wins.

And the Rays have the second best record in the American League (despite lacking a highly overpaid batter, no less)…

The only reason Bello spent time in Portland and Worcester last year was on a rehab assignment after he was on the IL near the end of spring training.  In essence, it was continuing spring training for him.  He was never optioned down in the traditional sense of sending someone down.

Crochet being out may have bought him some time and it will be interesting to see what happens when Crochet is back assuming Bello continues to blow goat chunks on the mound.

Bello might be the best answer to a questionable bullpen.  But a few arms need to get heathy first…

Arms are not the answer if we are pathetic at sdcoring runs. Look for weak offensive players with more than 100 abs, especially if coupled with so so defense. Management needs to make the hard decisions and get rid of ones that can't get it done, particularly if they are well into their careers. Look to the minors for hope. We had chances to make trades earlier and  whiffed on those. Another year in last place is not acceptable.

Sometimes I am overly optimistic. You’ll have to forgive me for my irrational exuberance.

I watched bello pitch this this fiasco and I see two problems:

1.) his breaking stuff has no bite! Everything is loopy and location is terrible! I believe his arm is dead (or should I say dragging behind the body) due to the wbc and not building up arm strength properly before going all out. When gray gets back off the injured list. Bello needs time to go down to fort Myers and rest the arm and then rebuild the strength properly so his breaking pitches are sharp again.

2.) who messed with the pitch selection? The percent of cutter sinker change and 4 seamers is mirroring crochet’s pitch selection and way different from what he threw last season. I understand that his pitches are not sharp due to the WBC,  and if he cannot get the change up or the cutter over for strikes, it leads to more juicy 4 seamers over the heart of the plate, but his pitches are so predictable. Even a Yankees fan can predict what he is throwing next!!!     Let’s bring him back to the pitch mix he used last season after his arm strength returns!!   He is not crochet by a long shot!
