Now Im tempted to start dreaming about packages that get us Corbin Carroll and K. Marte again, but I wont because I want to spare people from never going to happen fantasy trades that involve fleecing Arizona for a player who is 0.0005% likely to be available (Carroll).

Maybe if we throw in Yoshida and Hicks, though?

I do think it has to be two.

I'm saying KMarte is the best option of the 2B/3B choices.

Then, we must add a second bat.

My position has not changed.

If just do one- it has to be K Marte: Alonso & Schwarber are gone.

Don't worry, it won't be two big bats. We are no longer allowed to just check off boxes like that.

I'm 99% sure we wont get one big bat and one moderate one. It's 99.9% no two big bats.

That does not change my opinion on what we need and should get.

(I also think we still need a #2 SP'er, but I'd be happy filling 2 of my big 3 wishes.)

I'm not against adding Marte or disputing he would improve the Red Sultans' offense, but I'd rather not give up Tolle or Early or Mayer for him -- because the owners can afford to just PAY money to another good hitter.

I feel I should have a say in this, since every time I go to Fenway, I always have to pay for seats and concessions and souvenirs.

They never accept any of my trade offers instead -- and I have a perfectly broken-in Rawlings Gold Glove that is embossed with the words Gold Glove right on it, and an Old Hickory 34" JD Martinez model that definitely has some hits left in it.

Again, I'm all for JH spending to fill the needs. That's my overwhelming choice.

As much as I think it's a waste having Duran DH, I'd refer t keep him and waste Masa's contract sitting on the bench.

In reality, I think it's not happening, so I propose what I think we can do within JH's stingy parameters. I'm not supporting JH's stinginess by giving suggestions that keep us near the first tax line and below line 2.

Let me tell you how it will be

There's one for fans, 19 for Henry

Cause it's the tax line

Yaaah, the tax line

Should Wild Card appear too small

Be thankful Brez don't trade them all

Cause it's the tax line

EEE-HAH, the tax lie

burn down the farm because Henry is too cheap to sign a FA.

Once the farm is empty, he'll just fire Breslow too.

I am almost 100% sure that we won't be adding 2 bats.  IMO, we have too many in house options to add 2 additional infielders.  I'm okay with that.  Add one bat at 2nd or 3rd base, then go with Mayer at the other.

I'm still hoping to see another top of the rotation starter added.  I'd rather see that than adding the second bat.

shouldn't this say Second Baseman? he's played a grand total of three games at third in his MLB career.

Agree he is strictly a second basement. The argument can be made that he is top three second basement in the league that can hit with some pop and flash the leather.  On the negative he is 32 and hits from the left side. If Bregman signs elsewhere this trade makes more sence,

He's a switch hitter, I believe.

Leave his private life out of this.  Focus on talking about how he can bat from the left side as well as the right side …

Marte and Eugenio Suarez?

Suarez might only require 2-3 years given his age.  Hes listed as 34 years old, but advanced carbon dating and the fossil record places him closer to 650,000,003 years old…

I've been saying Marte and Suarez/Polanco for a long time as maybe our best hope for JH to allow.

This rookie we got coming up, Dustin Pedroia, looks like he's going to really contribute this year!

We should trade Pedroia.  Everyone knows that prospects are suspects.

If we add a second basement, we're sure to end up in the cellar again.

And being in the basement means we are sellers at the deadline.

Just curious, do you get anything for the credits?  Like, do you get paid for an article, or a few pennies per purchase?  How does that work?

I have been on the Marte Train for a while.  I’m not so much in Camp Suarez, but I could see it happening…

He had the purchase the copy after adding his name in permanent Sharpie…

I'm not a Suarez fan, but no way we take on Marte's 5 years and then sign a FA to 4+ years. That's where Suarez comes into play.
