Duran & Wong for Paredes & Walker Yanek

I don't consider that remotely close.  It's tough to assess someone like Janek, but the Ks are huge and no guarantee he sticks at catcher.

How about not including Wong, and HOU can sign Caratini?

2.5 hours until Monegro/Paez/Mullins get drafted. Maybe DD drafts Song again?

stove is warm right now. Last 48 hours. Good to see.

Alonso to the O’s for $155M. Love it, love it, love it. The O’s went hard after Flintstone, and now they signed Alonso. Who saw the O’s as being big players in the FA market. They also traded for Ward earlier on, so they have added some big production bats.

I don’t know if Brez got a face to face with Alonso, or not, but to get outbid by the O’s.🙈

I like Paredes, but he is only a small bargain over  his current salary.  And since I like Mayer as our l/t 3B, I'm lukewarm on Paredes.  But no way I deal a 2-year star like Duran for 2 years of Paredes.

I know one poster on here said Alonso would like Boston over Baltimore. I guess he didn’t read the room very well. All that hard work of penciling in Alonso in a imaginary Red Sox batting order down the drain.

Paredes has a nice spray chart!

Players like more money over less money.

Definitely got  the sense that Breslow ( or Owners) wouldn't go the 5 years or maybe the $30MM AAV .

OTOH, Alonso must know he will get less HRs in Baltimore , but he will be getting the money guaranteed, like all aging sluggers.

Why do people think that Bregman will take any less , and when you look at his overall 2026, AB is a fading light over a 4-5 year period.

And no doubt Baltimore offered more money. I just hope the Red Sox won’t turn to Bregman now, and offer him more money than they would have before.

A RH DH is a good fit for them, but they still need at least 2 SPs.

Bregman doesn't seem to have the market Pete did, though. I'm not sure who we'd be bidding against for Bregman.

I don’t think is worried to much about hitting in Baltimore. Bregman is not the hitter Alonso is.

His biggest cheerleader is the current manager.

clearly....Breslow isn't really interested in anybody. unless they'll play for peanuts. f*** him and f*** JH.

Red Sox draw artificial lines in the sand and don't get "uncomfortable" no matter how much they say they do. It's fine if Alonso isn't THAT guy. However, when the right move is there, they need to really go for it.

Didn't the O's sign a guy named Chris Davis to a big deal  in this century ?  How did that go ?

Not very good at the end.

The Cubs are interested I guess? IDK.
