I’m still catching up on the game but through 6, the two Angel pitchers have combined for 16 different letters and 20 letters total in their last names.

And the NESN guys never even noticed.  Thanks very much.

Not sure I get the reference; in fact I know I don’t.

It's a mystery sort of like this team

It doesn't have to be burning toast;  it just has to be toast.

The worst part is no buttah.

Buehler

3/29-4/9 9.1 IP, 8.68 ERA, 6.39 FIP, 6.92 k/9, 0.99 bb/9, 1.61 WHIP

4/10-5/25 31.2 IP, 2.56 ERA, 3.89 FIP, 8.36 k/9, 3.46 bb/9, 1.18 WHIP

5/26-6/17 18 IP, 10.50 ERA, 7.35 FIP, 8.50 k/9, 4.5 bb/9, 2.22 WHIP

He had a nice little stretch in April and May, but he's been dreadful since Memorial Day. Batters are just teeing off on him. He may get a reprieve tonight as LAA are 24th in wRC+.

LAA is the second worst fielding team in MLB, just ahead of the Nats per FRV (25th in fielding percentage).

He's been consistently horrible, and tonight's game didn't deviate from the past 2 months of having nothing close to what he used to bring to the ballpark . 7 walks in 4 innings giving up only 2 hits but 5 runs in the first. Time to kick this one to the curb and look for their next rehabbing worn out arm to put on the bump.

Other than Crochet, is there a more inconsistent inept pitching staff top to bottom in MLB?

Another choke job by Whitlock. His best year was his rookie year.

3 Freaking walks to go with getting hit.......

Cora missed an opportunity to hit Refsnyder for Anthony, bases loaded, one out. He at least would have made a contact. Ugh.

The Sox have one thing going for them. The AL is weak.

 Doesn’t matter. They stink.

Well, at least Devers isn't around as it might affect the clubhouse

The Sox have been mediocre the previous 3 seasons including the 1st 70 games of this season with Diva Devers, They can definitely stay mediocre without him.

The Sox team ERA is 3.98, there are 3 teams at 5 or over, so yes, there are worse.  The 2025 Sox are a painfully frustrating team, though, that's for sure.

Does seem questionable, I had to look it up to see if there's any explanation.  Sure enough, Detmers has reverse splits, career .774 vs lefty hitters and .748 vs righties.  So I can understand Cora thinking it made sense to let Anthony hit there.  Probably also trying to show some confidence in the kid.

Results sucked of course.

If the team gives you a 3 run lead in the top of the first, don't give it right back. Seems easy enough? Not for Buehler.

Whitlock had been really good for a while. Coming back from his injury, there will be bumps along the way.

Buehler was a 21 million dice roll.  Once again we crapped out.

If Gio had stayed healthy, seems like he would have been the good signing. He probably won't get to the 140 Innings mark and will be back next season.

I definitely agree about Cora letting Anthony know that he has confidence in him. I applause him for that. Obviously, knowing the result makes me a genius in critiquing Cora..

I realize that Buehler had another horrendous performance. But, the game was tied 5-5 when we loaded the bases with one out.  Someone has to make the big play and unfortunately we did not.......just frustrating.

Kind of a lot to gamble

We tried the $10 million plays with guys like Garrett Richards and Corey Kluber and they were losers too.

I'm starting to think that about 95% of pitchers suck now, when you factor in durability LOL.

Yeah, it's brutal.  I can't even watch the games much any more.  I follow on Gameday and even that hurts.

Fans should try to stay on at least somewhat of an even keel. Don't go nuts over every game. The Sox have their stopper, Crochet, going tonight. Kid Kaopectate. Then we can once again check the standings, schedules and scoreboard watch.

The FA market was supposed to be a great one last year. It was not.

Yup, win tonight and lose tomorrow. Sunrise. Sunset.

I really stopped watching religiously several years ago. It is tough to watch, and it shouldn't be. It should be some super highs, great rallies, long win streaks or stretches, and feel of being super competitive. I think the first Verdugo season I enjoyed watching them battle. But when you have a .500 type team and it's a lineup of kids (when do they become viable hitters?) and utility guys. They wanted to trade Rafaela a month ago to open space and he's at least entertaining. Anyway, I do watch the mini highlights but I have taped a few games and erased them once I heard the score. Angels I usually actually attend a game, can't make myself drive an hour-and-a-half and would have had Devers still been a Sox.
