Thank goodness Crochet doesn't have the same kind of opt out contract like Bregman's.

The Sox are now 6-6 in Crochet’s starts. Another wasted effort when Crochet has pitched.

Since we are not going anywhere this year, time to limit Crochet at 80 pitches or fewer per start. Try to get something from Story, Houck, Whitlock, Hamilton and even Bregman when healthy and keep rebuilding for 2027.

Whitlock about to put this one away for the Brewers.

Cora looking disgusted in the dugout.  I  mean he seldom shows emotion, but he looked pretty beside himself as he watched Whitlock fart around.

Cora gets disgusted, but still gets paid. We get disgusted for free.

Whitlock has become pretty useless. He gets hit. That's the bottom line. We used the excuse that he's much better reliever.......sure he is.

It’s brutal watching this limp dick lineup everyday

We are probably going to score 10 runs tomo but the next three games only 4 runs combined and so on. That’s your 2025 Red Sox baseball signature.

I hate to lose any games, but I especially hate to lose games in which we get good starting pitching.  :(

6-6 in Crochet's starts, 0-3 in Mayer starts.  :(

Over the past several years, the offense has been, by far, more frustrating for me than our pitching.

It's particularly frustrating when we have a potentially solid power hitter sequestered in the minors while we play guys who have proven to be weak. This team needs a shakeup but the collective management has been unwilling to go in that direction. I agree, Crochet deserves better. Ownership spent serious money yet we are still mired in mediocracy. Time to ask if it is management that is holding the team back.

I'm not as anxious as most for Anthony to be called up.  I like our OF as currently constructed.  Duran has heated up.  Abreu has been in a bad slump in the month of May, especially the last 2 weeks, but he should break out of it soon.  Rafaela is Rafaela.  He's fine in the 9 hole.  Plus, I love the defense that our OF brings.

How nice it would be if Anthony could play 1B, but management has already nixed that idea.

the Sox have badly underachieved so far this season--AGAIN but this time we can't blame it on the FO. Time for Breslow to address the black holes we have in our line-up

Grissom must be pretty bad if Hamilton is starting ahead of him. good thing we paid ATL to take Sale off our hands for him.

100% this!!!!

Another crappy game. Not even in June yet and this team is cooked already. Four months of even .500 baseball or two games of under .500 baseball.

I'm probably wrong, but I think he should perfect 3 pitches and stay with them.

The problem with the 2025 Red Sox, is that it’s not just one thing, its a myriad of issues.

The Sox only have one starter that can be relied on, only one starter who can consistently go 6-7 innings,(Crochet gets shafted with no run support)  an unreliable bullpen beyond Chapman and Slatten, a flaccid lineup aside from Duran, Devers, an injured Bregman, and Narvaez,

Their fielding is amongst the worst in MLB.

They strike out at an alarming rate, they don’t have a clean up hitter, they lack right handed pop,  and they can’t hit with RISP.

Thats too many problems to fix , they look like they are toast this season, yet again!

Just because Cora deems the pitchers unable to pitch 6-7 innings doesnt mean it's true. He pulls them many times with having just a little trouble but still getting out of the inning and under 90 pitches. Its at those times that the bullpen usually stinks it up and the offense follows suit.

Houck was having a great game against Toronto but Cora pulled him after 85 pitches and the bullpen gave it up. They were probably wondering why they were there in the first place. Houck stank after that. He just did it to Crochet, game before today. Cora is over managing, not using common sense. He's saving his pitchers arms for the postseason but is under 500.

My thoughts on this game:

1. Crochet needs to be a stopper, letting your first pitch go into the stands is BRUTAL

2. The offense loves weak fly balls the least exciting play in baseball

3. I can't stand all the called third strikes

4. The home plate ump was annoying with missed calls and holding the game up to fill out his book (when was the last time a homeplate ump took time out of the game to fill out pinch hitters, most umps get that done seamlessly)

The guy's got a 2.04 ERA with a 1.07 Whip.

He's doing his job as the stopper, just most of the rest of the team is failing him.

Overall, he's a great pitcher, but I don't think Pedro Martinez or Chris Sale is letting the first pitch of the game get knocked for a HR like that.

our coach would sit us on the bench for watching a 3rd strike go by.

Crochet:

1st Inning: 167 tOPS+, 100 sOPS+

2nd Inning: 165 tOPS+, 127 sOPS+

He's an average pitcher the first two innings of the game. He needs to figure out how to adjust.

sale has given up 27 1st inning HR's in his career while pedro has given up 24.

crochet has given up 5 in his short career.

The starting rotation is a HUGE problem right now that affects everything the bullpen can do.

The fielding was supposed to get better with Story, but he's just been awful. If Wong can't hit, he needs to be let go at the deadline too.

The k rate is 100% on team construction and can't get fixed this year.

This season the Red Sox have the American League's fifth-highest strikeout rate at 23.0 percent, down from last year's strikeout rate of 25.4 percent, the second highest in the league.

With all due respect to all the nay sayers content with leaving Anthony in the minors should think what this is doing to Anthony.

Do you think he wants to be a Red Sox? No freakin' way he's signing extension. Many here think the outfield is just fine. And maybe it is but you're ignoring the fact that it can be better. The odd man out can play another position (eg Rafaela) or be traded to acquire additional pitching help.

Our lineup overall is pathetic. You can't recoup sunken costs. We made a big mistake acquiring both Yoshida and Story. Why is Story in a slump? Well hell, he wasted his prime years injured. He's unable to recover what little magic he has left in his bat.

If I'm Anthony, I'm stewing playing AAA while my buddies are getting promotion.

Cora and Brez are worried about hurting the feelings of grown up such as Devers, Story, etc.

They should be more concerned about Anthony. Quit telling us why you can't bring up Anthony. What's going to change? Are you seriously hoping that an outfielder gets hurt as one of the options as your plan going forward?

If you can't find a way to bring up Anthony, then the organization is more incompetent that I ever imagined.

Why don't you use your stinking analysists to find a way to bring up Anthony. Hell he's in everyone's top 3 prospects in the majors.

Very disappointing.

Uh, I think everyone wants him in BOS just everyone has different ideas on how to do it?
