Along with Bush wearing out a path to the mound Tek wrote volumes in his notebook. I didn’t see that either one helped.

It helped Tek reminisce -- he was jotting haikus.

Cora mentioned that he wasn't happy with the performance of his coaching staff. We'll see what other moves are made if any.

Neither were the fans nor posters. Bush failed to teach Brasier the one new pitch that would have rebuilt the entire bullpen. Febles was indecisive at 3B waving his one arm while holding up his other hand to stop.

It turns out it's everybody's fault, except Cora.

Jeez, all of a sudden he's Alex the Assassin here. ;)

I think a clean housecleaning should be in order with a real person in charge who can pick all their own staff including the manager.

Posted
I'm hoping we hire a make believe person.

It won’t be a make believe person, but will it be someone who is really in charge?

Posted
Can anybody be fully in charge?

Especially not the way things are now. Was Cora offered the job when he met with Tom, and JH? Why else would he tell them he wasn’t ready? Now Sam says they are going to do this big extensive search. Very suspect to me, or very curious as the Globe said.

Seems clear as day, to me. Cora is not in charge, or else it would mean he offered himself the job, then refused.

Very curious, indeed.

Cora is now JH’s right hand man, and is in charge enough to get Bloom fired.😀

You keep saying the same thing over and over.

It did not take Cora to get Bloom fired.

Talk about misreading the room.

You can think what you want, but if you don’t think Cora had a hand, and a voice in getting Bloom fired I don’t think you got picked off base, but didn’t even get on base to begin with. 🙈

I never said Cora didn't have a hand, but I do think even if he begged to keep Bloom, they'd have fired him anyway. We know this is not true, and maybe Cora was one of the first and or loudest "Fire Bloom" guys in the system, but it was not his call.

I think firing Bloom was a unanimous choice. They did not need Cora's blessing, suggestion or advice.

Do you think he was the main guy who made it happen?

Well no one has to worry about Cora begging JH to let Bloom stay. No it was not Cora’s call to fire Bloom, but I just think he had a lot more to do with it than YOU think. Especially when it happened. I read an article on NESN, and at the end there were comments, and one of those comments said they could not believe how Cora has almost everyone eating out of his hands management, and fans alike, and I kind of agree. The comments on Cora were a lot more mixed than what they are on here. I still remember the comments of a well known poster on here a few years ago when they said we’ve got Cora, and we’ve got Bloom. Like that was supposed to give the Red Sox some kind of competitive edge, or something. How did that work out?

So you’re saying Cora is stupid…

How do you know what I think?

I have no idea how much influence Cora had on the firing, and neither do you, as of now. He may have been the biggest fact, or they may have made up their minds before or after consulting him on his opinion.

I don't think Cora wanted Bloom back, but that is based on his displeasure with the lack of deadline moves. It's conjecture- precisely the thing you bash us over the head for daring to state as an opinion.

You mean someone actually said "we got Cora, and we got Bloom." Man, the lies on this site are overwhelming, at time.

Thanks for the morning laugh.

You read an article that gives a guy's opinion. You agree with it. It becomes fact.

Look, it is obvious they really like Cora. Not a single poster has hinted otherwise. They apparently offered him a promotion. They obviously care what he thinks, and I'm sure he was at worst, consulted on the Bloom decision. He may have had a dump Bloom bullhorn. He may have been no more outspoken on the idea of firing him as anyone else in the room.

Did JH, Kennedy and others value his opinion more than their own or others? How the hell do any of us know?

Yes, some posters were optimistic about Bloom being able to bring some of the TB mojo to Boston. The guy "wrote the book." He did mostly what he was told to do. He built up the farm and the 40 man foundation, pretty well. You might disagree, but I read an article....

He sucked in other areas, and the phrase "paralyzed by indecision" and his inability to go the extra mile to get the guys he wanted got him rightfully fired. Your expectation for what a GM could do after 2019 was different from mine and others. Fine. You seem to take issue with anyone even bringing up the enormous difficulties any GM would have had with the budget and mandates handed to Bloom in late 2019.

Bloom failed. You can fantasize all you want about there being some great numbered legion of Bloom lovers who thought he'd work miracles in 2-3 years, but as usual, you "misread the room."

And Bloom doesn't get enough credit for leaving Cora with only 3/5ths of a starting rotation in July, and instead suppling the openers and bulk men that led to a 15-8 month, when their runs allowed average was repeatedly only 2.757575757575758!

They asked if he would like to be included as part of the interviews and he declined. What is so difficult about this?

There is an article on NESN. Red Sox Rumors: Red Sox fire two coaches. That is a fact. At the end of the article presently there are 24 comments, and most of them are against Cora. That’s a fact, and you can read it all for yourself. I know it’s hard to fathom on here that not everyone out there thinks as highly of Cora as most do on here. Like yours, and mine they are all opinions, which once again you don’t like. 700 calls Cora a cheater all the time on here, and yes some others out there view him that way as well. Call everyone out there who feels the same way a hater all you want. Just, because Cora won in 2018 I believe he is way overrated on here especially. Heck John Farrell won too. Like I’ve said the views on here are nowhere near as mixed as they are out there on Cora, or even Bloom for that matter, and you can write columns after columns, and that’s not changing anything. Thankfully everyone has an opinion, and everyone is entitled to that opinion like it, or not.

My point was not about the article being right or wrong, and I know many people do not think Cora should be the manager, let alone promoted.

I'm not sure where you get the impression I don't know this.

You cat like those who disagree with you just need to know all the facts, and they'd "see the truth."

Where did I say the article or firings were not fact. The article exists and is a fact, and it was based on opinion based on someone's observations, which may or may not be biased. You agreed, and that may or not be nothing more than confirmation bias.

Why do you keep feeling the need to say the feelings here are not the same as "out there?"

Facts:

1. We all know there are more and differing opinions "out there."

2. Only you pretend to have your finger on the true pulse of Sox Nation.
