I'd be asking for Dustin May in return instead. The guy looks more ready to step into an immediate major league role and is the #23 prospect in MLB.

Can you please stop with this s***?

Yeah, I know. there were even folks who brought s*** like that up during the Kobe deification, or even during the Antonio Brown saga. We really need to stop and focus on the important things in life, like how much money owners of professional sports franchises make.

So there is some goo-gah coming out of MLB Network that both are true. The Sox valued Gatorade as a starter in the deal and the Twins valued him as a relief pitcher.

That is a train wreck waiting to happen.

If true that each team had its own perspective on the player in the deal how can that be and by what standard is a pitcher deemed a starter or a relief pitcher? What happens if Gatorade ever starts again if the Sox get added compensation in the deal? Seems to me that Gatorade has to be cut entirely out of the deal and another player added as this is leading to an impossible situation.

Bloom or Bust!

Now I just heard this .What if the Redsox never agreed to this deal and where still doing due diligence on Buterol and this was leaked about 3 days early ? Would explain the Joc Peterson issue with Arb going today ? Did any Redsox exec actual confirm this deal ? Dodgers ? Or is this society today leak what you have weather it’s true or not ? If so I feel pretty terrible for Brusdar in this scenario .

But the fact is that Verdugo is not a suspected rapist.

The difference is that Kobe definitely raped someone. Verdugo didn't (at least according to these specific allegations).

The Twins should know more about the guy than the Red Sox. If the Twins think he is a reliever, I am skeptical of the Red Sox reported interest in him as a starter.

That’s true but what GM did we hire ? Rays do some unorthodox s*** with pitchers .

Benintendi is the better fielder and much better base runner. Confortois a much better power hitter. Also, it was only in the second half of last year that he was fully recovered from his shoulder surgery.

Health is also a factor. See Graterol, Brusdar

Basically having all the talent in the world doesn’t do any good if you can’t get off the IL...

So was he the guy filming it? How many 'parties' have you attended where your two buddies (I believe there were only 4 people there at the time, right?) raped a drunk, drug-addled teenager and you stood by and did nothing? (Sorry I'm vague on the details here; that story was so revolting I have no interest in going back to it.)

Jad you are a pretty reliable poster unlike myself ..with that said man you need to understand sometimes when the victim actually defends someone at a crime scene there is damn good reason that she did .I can only ask you to try to move forward .I also understand that if this is my sister or your sister we place our pain there and that there’s nothing anyone can say to us even maybe our sister that there was one single pure soul on premises.I get this Jad I’ve had rapes happen in my life to family .Please forgive Alex for being with the wrong people that night and let’s move on Jad .Your a good man and have a huge heart.

Good answer!! So you’re saying if owners don’t spend as much as you like, you get to throw around rape accusations!

Hitch is right. Let it go until there is a story about his actual involvement....

Anyone who has watched Graterol knew he wasn’t a starter. 6’1” 255 pound side of beef with a violent delivery and an enormous fastball. The idea he was a starter in training is just asinine

Has anyone from any organization said this deal was agreed to besides MLB network mlb trade rumors and a bevy of reporters ? Has Bloom made a statement ? No so what we have is a leaked deal that was never signed off right ? Blame fake news not the Redsox

You're moralizing on this is disgusting. You're accusing a kid of rape that nobody else, including the alleged victim or police, has.

All because you don't like a trade.

Get a f***ing grip.

None of the discussion was deleted, just merged into threads.

Just my opinion, but I thought the thread about the deal hitting a snag was a good idea. I think it is a separate topic. But what the hell. It doesn’t matter.

Anyway, it would be funny if the trade fell apart like the ARod deal did before 2004 and the Red Sox again go onto a Word Championship.

it would be funny to see one of JH typical panic moves now.

reneg on the trade and sign every available FA player left....

Advance ticket sales must be in the toilet. They were languishing before the trade, but they have probably dried up since the announcement.

The really messed up thing from a fan relation standpoint is that they raised ticket prices for a year that they have decided they will not try to compete. The Left Hand doesn’t know what the Right Hand is doing in the organization right now. They are usually much better at season ticket holder relations.

If I am not mistaken its not like Sam Kennedy's office is on Mars somewhere. I mean what does it take for the left hand to know what the Right Hand is doing. That said, I think I know the answer and his initials are JH.

The MLB Trade Simulator is not some be-all end-all site, but it's interesting to note their take on this trade. (Assuming it goes through.)

The Sox end up +18.6. (Betts + $48M + Price= 43.4 and Verdugo + Graterol= 62.0)

The Dodgers end up -18.1. Betts+ Price+$48M= +43.4, but Verdugo + Maeda is giving up 61.5.)

The Twins end up -0.5 (Graterol is valued slightly higher than Maeda.)

If Graterol is damaged goods, I don't want him, but it's interesting to see how ML Trade Values rates his value vs some of our young pitchers:

14.3 Graterol

12.4 Mata

10.6 D Hernandez

4.5 Ward

3.8 Song

3.7 Groome

2.6 Houck

1.1 Chih-Jung

If Ward is valued at 4 and we have two pitchers that have doubled and tripled his Value ? First thing I say is Wow because Ward is a stud .Next thinking Brasdar is a 14 ?..daaaaaaang that would be a hell of a pitcher for us .14 means 0 though if he’s injured so the whole thing blows up .Good to see MATA that highly regarded though Moon

Yup, 100%. Which is the part of the trade I had the problem with. Trade Mookie, but get maximum return, don't trade half a contract away of one our healthiest (not saying much) starters.

We are in complete agreement Hitch.
