Wow! NOTHING! Not one f***in’ move. Why should any of us care about 2019 at this point? We all know what this team’s undoing will be.

Cora just a few minutes ago:

“There was a lot of communication. I don’t know how close we were or not. At the end of the day, we decided we’d stay put.”

Well..... there you have it folks.

Given the number of Sellers out there, a hell of a lot of them seem to have been left holding the bag. Wow.

The big losers at the deadline were Zack Wheeler and Madison Bumgarner, both of whom will now get Qualifying Offers and be screwed for free agency....

Maybe the men on Red Sox team earning $243M combined should man up and start playing better. What are they? Bunch of pussies?

CORA just said "No trade"

It's not Coras fAult we have 4 starters who can't go 5 Innings .The bullpen Is not the problem it's Chris Fing Sale ,David Fing price ,lilDik Rick ,who take the blame for the disaster.

It doesn’t always work out as planned. The FO doesn’t get paid to tweak the team and make moves from time to time? Anyone who has been watching the SOX this year knows that they have one glaring weakness.

50% chance the Red Sox earn a wild card, and then there is a 50% chance the Red Sox win the Wild Card game. In other words, the odds that the Red Sox advance beyond the Wild Card game are below 50%. The Red Sox didn't do anything outrageous by not trading prospects. The Yankees who are already in the playoffs are the bigger joke. Edited by Fan_since_Boggs

The costs for Elias and Strickland weren’t unreasonable...

Seattle general manager Jerry Dipoto likely approached many teams, including the Red Sox, about Roenis Elias and Hunter Strickland but probably settled on the best offer.

On a sidenote, my fantasy team with Strickland applauded the trade of Elias because Strickland likely would be elevated to the closer's role in Seattle. The fortunes were reversed moments later when the Mariners traded Strickland to the same Nationals club.

Verlander, Cole, and Grienke as 1-2-3 in the playoffs.

You have to figure that the Astros are the favorites in the AL.. although I’d hate to play Cleveland right now.

No moves = no playoffs

Time for Henry to clean house starting with Dombrowski and the two stooges running the Minor League Development system in Crockett and Abraham

Spend 240 million in payroll and you cannot develop any pitching is mind boggling with the resources the Organization has

It wasn’t no moves. They did add Cashner...

We need RP.. two arms. Two! I’m not even going to get mad when this comes back to shorten our season. It’s the proverbial nail in the coffin for 2019.

I’d be ok with it if I had any faith in the minor leagues supplying an effective reliever this year. But I don’t...

Stros got Greinke

Hey man Cash was likely held over a barrel on the Zac deal and I'm sure you made runs at MADBUM and that often injured ass hat in NY .Sometimes the best thing to do is see what you have in upper minors .I am hoping the Redsox give our guys a shot now The Redsox are not built to win back to back unless the corpses of Sale and Price wake up from the dead .i will admit this now ,I freaking haaaaaaaate Houston and would love for you folks to cave there arrogant heads in since we can't .AL East always all others can crawl into traffic

You have to have stuff of value to get value; lack of moves is as much about the barrenness of the Sox farm system as anything else. They couldn’t plug one hole without creating another. Example, you trade Beni for a bull pen piece and backfill with who?

YAZ Dave gave up last night after watching the corpse of price pitch another 4 and a third and before him The death nail of Chris waaaaaaay baaaaaaack sale getting destroyed on prime time again .we are a s*** middle of the road club without those two *******s .

Looks like we threw in the towel for this year. We don't look to match up well with several teams. The new and very real question is how do we structure the team for 2020 and forward? Some general thoughts::

Clear some cap space by shedding contracts while keeping top young players to build around?

If possible trade away underperforming starting pitchers and try to replace with younger and less expensive pitching talent. (Price, Sale, Eovaldi)

1. Porcello gone

2. Moreland gone

3. JBJ gone

4. JDM up in the air

5. What to do about Mookie

6. Pearce gone

7. Pedroia out of the picture

8. Leon gone

9. Chavis, Dalbec, Casas, others vie for 2nd and first

10. Bullpen actions, many required

11. Consideration of the value of GM, Managers, Coaches

The Sox could have gotten a reliever, but other than that what's the point. However, the Sox SPs could actually pitch like they care and it would result in more wins. Relievers not as big an issue as the SPs not delivering

I'm frankly stunned at all the naysayers now lambasting DD for not making a move when he in fact has already done just that.

He traded for Cashner, and moved Eovaldi to the bullpen, which should have enough to get the job done. Throwing a bunch more middling relievers at the problem ain't going to fix it. And the price for Diaz was too high.

And just maybe Cashner can be as good as his last start and become a reliable 5th starter.

As far as I am concerned, DD has done his job.

I also think it's time for Sale, Price, and Porcello to get their heads on straight and start earning some of the insane amount of money they are being paid.
