If the Giants are turning into sellers, the Red Sox should try to acquire Bumgarner. Dalbec doesn't really have a spot on the Giants with Longoria and Belt signed to expensive contracts over the next few years. The Red Sox and Giants don't seem to match up very well for a Bumgarner trade. I doubt that a package of B.Howlett and D.Reyes gets it done, for example. Edited July 31, 2019 by Fan_since_Boggs

You need a Reliever who is having a good season. Not a scrub or junkballer.

 

Last nights loss proves the theory. Price done, Barnes in 6th Workman 7th Evoldi the 8th a pitcher like Yates or WSmith SF in 9th and you might have won that game?

 

Dombrowski f###ed up in the off season and so far refuses to fix it by dealing the deadweight to offset the cash because the Team is cash strapped thanks to the drunken sailor spending.

 

If a legit RP at reasonable cost is not brought in, Henry needs to show Dombo the door this off-season!

What form? He had a marginal fastball and an over-reliance on that big knuckle curve. There were times when I was sure he was so afraid to throw the ball that he was going to walk off the mound and out of the game. His 2017 was a dead ringer for Ellsbury's 2011--never to be repeated.
