I do not expect to stop it.  But I like to explain the virtue of patience.

These days, patience is not a virtue and is actually spit on.

Seattle reportedly had interest in Curtis Mead's right-handed bat but the Mariners were unlikely to trade starter Emerson Hancock for Mead.

Compare the 2026 lines for Connelly Early and Hancock:

CE 17 GS, 91.2 IP, 3.44 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, 2.74 K/BB, 119 ERA+, 1.6 bWAR, 0.7 fWAR

EH 19 GS, 105.1 IP, 3.16 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, 3.73 K/BB, 125 ERA+, 2.4 bWAR, 1.6 fWAR

Early is nearly three years younger than Hancock and has five more years of team control to Hancock's four years. Early is a left-hander but right-hander Hancock has avoided the injured list.

Interesting comp.

He’s getting a little better though. Still uncomfortable, but not as awkward

If we win a ring, and the pressure eases up for a couple minutes, maybe he can relax a little and at least look more comfortable.

Yeah, he’s so uptight right now, you couldn’t get a pin up his azzz with a jackhammer…

Peripheral stats works for you, and that’s fine for you. But the stats on the back of a baseball card like HR, RBI actually shows up on the scoreboard, which determines the W-L in the standings. That works for me.

But the guy with the RBI didn't actually score.  It was the guy that got on base that scored.

Any of you guys ever hear of a guy named Belichek?  I don't remember him being so warm and friendly.

I bet most of the players & coaches who worked under Belichek are glad they did. Even those who moved to new teams made more money due to their success under B.

It's not worth the effort, Joe.

I agree. The runner scored a run, the batter got an RBI, and a run went up on the scoreboard. All good, and all those stats showed up on the scoreboard.

I was joking about Anthony. I doubt we will see him anytime soon. Not sure how good a defender Langoliers is but I know he can hit the baseball-and for a team that is close to last in runs scored that needs to be taken into account.

I thought I read  over the weekend that Langeliers out for the season

MLBTR suggests the Ms are willing to trade 4.4 years of EH.

They also are willing to pay $$$ as part of a Luis Castillo trade (1.4 yrs remaining.)

https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2026/07/mariners-reportedly-willing-to-eat-money-in-luis-castillo-trade.html

Combine the two and it's 26-16 for a value of 10.

Godbout is 9.3, but they'd laugh at that offer. Witherspoon is 11.8, so...?

BTV accepts Azocar & KC for the two.

i'd do that in a second.

Seattle has enormous pitching depth. besides the 6 starters currently on their roster, they have Logan Evans coming back from UCL next year. additionally, they have AA minor league phenom Kade Anderson, who might be better than all of them. i'd give Anthony and Mayer for him today.

I understand the desire to date cheerleaders, but he should've told her not to show up at the press conference in her cheerleading outfit.

I doubt they even discuss this deal. They'd want Eyanson or some bats.

You're willing to give up on Roman Anthony so quickly? He was the #2 ranked prospect in all of Baseball just last year. Feels a bit hasty.
