Amazing win!!!!!!!! I was at yesterday's game, there is just a bit of Karma around them. Wilson Contreras signed my nephew's ball before the game!!! Was real nice to the fans.

Buy Buy Buy....we need Roman and Garrett.

So if we manage to pull this one out are we still solid sellers?

And Rafaela should NEVER challenge balls and strikes

Agree on both.  Rafalea is blind and a smart trade might be good, but I think Breslow prefers the offseason.

He’s been sharper than Tolle was today.  One solo homer doesn’t change that.

But he allowed a HR to a probable HOF player.  Doesn't that mean his career is over?

resting on the recent success.

We're not likely to win the next 68 in a row.  We will occasionally be shut down.

Almost every key team in the AL won, today.

Won: SEA, MIN, CWS, CLE, BAL

Lost: DET, A's

TEX & HOU are tied in the 7th. (We will gain 1/2 on one and lose 1/2 on the other.)

TOR is losing 3-1 in the 3rd

We remain 1/2 GB the wildcard (SEA & MIN tied,) so we have to pass two teams to qualify. Remember, about a week ago, how many said, we have too many teams to pass to have a shot? That was with 3 months to go. It took one week to pass 4 teams.

We will hit some rough times, at some point. We will not go on at this 14-2 pace the rest of the season, but I think it's clear we are no longer the team that was 32-46, anymore.

I hate to count on returning IL players, and I won't. Any that do may help or may not. We simply cannot plan on it. We have 6 SP'ers on the IL, and only 2 seem very likely to be back by mid August: Early & Suarez. Crochet, Crawford, Oviedo & Houck are longshots in my book. I'm not even sure we should count on them for 2027, either.

Everyday players could add a big boost, namely Anthony, and maybe moving him to Fort Myers will light a fire in him, if that is what is needed. IKF and Sogard are marginal improvements, if at all. Right now, Seigler and Monasterio are doing well. Replacing Cheng could help. I'm not sure Story will help, but he did hit well, after the midpoint of 2025. Mayer should be better than Cheng. I'm not counting on Casas for jack, even for '27.

Deadline trades as buyers? I'm thinking minimal additions for a RHB and a RP'er or two. I could see us trading Cespedes, Holobetz, Romero, Wehunt and the like, for whatever they are worth. Philips or Valera might be as high as we got. Witherspoon is a longshot, but only for a very helpful piece. (I hope not for just a rental.)

Maybe we trade IKF or Monasterio, when Story returns. I'd trade Duran, but not for nothing. I doubt we will be serious buyers or sellers, this August 3rd.

3-3 in extras.

This is not the same team we have watched for 2.5 months.

In more ways than just literally.

Bennett, Sandoval & Rivera in rotation

Bello & Moran in the pen

Wong has replaced Narvaez as the #1 Catcher.

Romy is back (no Contreras for 5 games)

Seigler at 2B

Monasterio & Cheng at SS

Caleb Durbin at 3B over an imposter for the first 2.5 months.

Eaton as the 13th everyday player (not IKF)

About the only unchanged thing is the OF & Gray. (Even Tolle was not in the opening day rotation.)

Your last sentence is exactly the problem BresLOW has had: equivocating at the TD to the great detriment of the team. It’s time to dive in head over heels one way or the other.

I disagree. I feel my last sentence is the highlight of my post.

I'm not for trading Eyanson and or Arias.

You thought and think this team sucks, yet you act like we are now 1-2 players away from a ring.

Were you wrong before, or are you wrong now? And please, no equivocating yourself.

I was neither wrong before nor wrong now. I still think this team should be sellers because I’m not satisfied this year with just showing up in October, if we even make the playoffs. The Flops are still below 50% odds to make the playoffs per Fangraphs and even worse in Vegas. They are projected to win 81 games this year according to some sources. It’s been a nice stretch but I don’t think they can keep it up.
My comment was about your statement that yet again BresLOW will equivocate at the TD. That strategy is a mistake, one the flops have made repeatedly. You do that and you neither compete this year nor acquire assets to compete in future years.
Hope that clears it up.

It does clear it up, because earlier you said one way or another, implying maybe be all out buyers.

I'd rather see us sell than do nothing or very minor buying, but above all, I don't want to see us trade Eyanson or Arias to try and win now.

To me by choice (and this could change in 21 days) :

1. (Barely) Sell all free agents to be and maybe 2 year players, too.

2. (Barely) Mildly buy a bat and RP'er for prospects like Cespedes and maybe Phillips at most.

3. Buy moderately by trading Witherspoon or Valera and maybe Gonzales, Azocar or Godbout

4. Buy all out to try and win in 2026 (trading Arias and or Eyanson)

TEX beat HOU.

TOR is still tied.

We are all alone at 0.5 GB the last WC slot (SEA & MIN)

We are 3.5 behind CLE (2nd WC team) and CWS (T1st in ALC)

We are 7 GB the NYY for the 1st WC slot.

We are in 3rd place in the ALE and 8th best in the AL.

We have the 3rd best run differential in the AL and just 5 runs behind the TBR and 8 behind the CWS.

Can they just stay on the road the rest of the year?

1. Red Sox first 9-0 road trip since 1977.

2. Sox have swept 4 of the last 5 series.  That’s crazy.
