One thing to remember , no matter how the Sox play , we are not the Angel's,  a truly dead team

Not that I give a crap about the ASG, but how the hell did Suarez get picked over Gray?

He was ahead of Gray in many categories- just not ERA and W-Ls.

Gray might take his place, now that he's hurt.

Amazingly Trout is still tearing it up

He has not played this weekend

Trout is a masochist, but a rich one

And they'll be paying the hobbled Trout 37 mil/yr thru the 2030 season.

I've got the Sox winning that series.

Maybe we can finally win three series in a row.

We've only won two in a row, once.

Yup, we've gone 8-2 and lost 1 in the last 3 series.

Yes, his knee, shoulder, ankle....

And despite that he’s still in the top ten in OPS in the league. Must suck to be him.

I remember a year or two ago and we had more pitching depth than we could handle. Now we have a bunch of oft injured guys Breslow was counting on while he shipped every lest bit of depth we had. One smart move was Bennett. At least he replaced what he traded. I can see a couple deals he made were ok, but to trade almost every one of them was absolutely stupid. And NO, Caleb Durbin and two AAAA middle infielders was not worth Harrison Drohan and Hamilton. Preister was traded for nothing and no reason. I’m still mad about that.
its not that I thought they would all turn out to be studs. It the fact we needed pitching depth before the season and now we REALLY REALLY need it with Suarez and his groin, and don’t have it. Thanks Bres… Under qualified and in over his head. Made some decent trades and threw a lot of it away.

Rewarding if it works and we don't hand away the next Harrison.

BTW, where is the talk about Jordan and DHam?

That's an RSN specialty.  Check the box scores for someone that had a good game and write about it.

That was one of the wackiest signings in history at that number.  Xander must have been astonished himself to get 280 million.

I don't recall ever seeing anything like this.  Preller was probably $100M+ higher than the #2 offer.

I stopped watching the ASG after they passed on Sanchez last year.  He was #2 in the CY, and was probably #2 even at the ASB.

I think so, too.  At least today.  As I said earlier, this should be a seller’s market.

But I am not opposed to them getting back into the race on this current run.  Heck, I’ll admit it.  I want them to.

Same here.  Part of being a fan 'should be' about hope.  3 weeks is a long time.  I'd give them that much leash, but could always change my mind if there was a Godfather offer out there.

I thought it was reported that there was a bidding war but we didn't get much info about it.  Maybe that was just Boras saying it.

While there was interest from other teams it was reported that the Red Sox was the only other team to have made a firm offer before SD swooped in and swept him off his feet.

Bogaerts deal was reportedly fallout from a bidding war with Philly over Trea Turner.  Each team kept upping their offer until reportedly Turner told San Diego to stop, as his wife is from Philly and that was the deciding factor.  Preller then used a huge chunk of his last offer to sign Bogaerts.  Probably confident Bogaerts didn’t also marry someone from eastern PA…
