Thank god your not in baseball ops!

A 27 year old, proven TOTR pitcher with 3 playoff cycles of control is worth a heft offer.

Skubal is no fluke.

2023-2024: 5th in fWAR (7.0)

1st in xFIP 2.66

1st in ERA- (68)

1st in SIERA at 2.79 (Nobody else is even close.)

2022-20244 (300+ IP)

11th in FWAR (10.4)

2nd xFIP (2.93) only Strider is better

2nd in SIERA (3.07 to Strider)

3rd in ERA-(72)

3rd in K/BB (5.4) and 2nd in K-BB% (23.3%)

He's the real deal. We need an ace, badly.

Done deal:

Cutter Coffey for Danny Jansen (Rental RHV Catcher)

Two other prospects have been included in that deal. No names yet…

I'm guessing they will not be too notable. (Maybe a Rule 5 guy we do not plan on protecting, anyway.)

Does Wong go to first base and Reese and Jansen catch??

I think McGuire gets traded or DFA'd. Wong can DH or play some 2B/1B, when "resting" from catcher duties.

Tigers playing .500 no way they deal a controlled pitcher of that quality, if they do the entire baseball operation should be fired

Far as prospect players mentioned all are A type prospects showing a high ceiling, you continue the development with those types of players

You cannot rob Peter to pay Paul

The organization needs to develop pitching

The 24 draft is a start

Epstein did the same in Chicago those drafts years, pitching pitching pitching

Paulino & Batista added to Jansen deal.

Is this beer leaguer catcher the next coming of Varitek? 30 plus year old for a 20 year old prospect in high A with power

Garbage deal of the week

Breezelow learned nothing from Orlando?

Trades like these get you fired quick

Epstein must have been taking a p!ss when the phone rang and breezlow answered it

Its either an all out youth movement or it’s not

Those are the facts!

Alex Speas DFA'd.

McGuire is out of options, so do we go with 3 catchers (using Wong at 1B/2B a bit?)

Send Westbrook to AAA?

Danny Jansen and James Paxton are apparently Werner’s idea of going full throttle.

I'm hoping Brez is still on the phone 24/7, but who knows?

The production from the catching position has been good, and Jansen is RH. Wong has been a solid RHH. I don’t get it.

Paxton faded in the second half last season, so he’s not much of an upgrade, if any.

These are not very helpful. Need a good pen arm or two.

Catchers can't catch 150 games. McGuire has sucked. What's not to get?

Wong can play 1B or 2B when not catching, so we add a 2nd RHB option.

No one has said anything about Wong will play 1B, or 2B with the addition on DJ. Brez said he was going to pick a lane, and so far he has picked up a hitchhiker along the way in Paxton that had been kicked out of the Dodgers car, and if Jansen is Brez idea of a RHB then no thank you. The Red Sox knew the BP needed help with Slaten, and Martin being out before the 2nd part of the season started, and also knew that Jansen wouldn’t be going to Colorado, which made things even worse, and yet NOTHING has been done to help out the situation, and the results have been a 2-6 record with the BP being the culprit giving up a lead late in 4 of those losses, which you aren’t going to get back. Right now it shows that Brez is nothing more than the 12th pick in the 2024 HOBO draft that the Red Sox ended up with, because so many others wouldn’t even interview for the job. Times a wasting, and the BP is just wasting away, and the losses are piling up, because of it.🤭🙈

Jansen is 5-35 in July with 1 HR, and 2 RBI.

The SOX FO kept their word and acquired a RH batter. The FO never said they were going after a RH hitter.

Janssen has been horribly recently hitting .134 over his most recent spell and only .212 overall with 6 hr's. good defensive C but spends a lot of time on the DL. If this means Wong will go to 2B much that will show how desperate the Sox have become.

i think Paxton was a good pickup that didn't cost much. It is actually more than I though we would get.

Still two more days. Hopefully progress is being made…

We see it again and again. Starters don't go deep in games. Every close game comes down to a battle of the bullpens. And it takes a toll. Many teams' bullpens are worn down. They are all looking to add relievers. Last night the Sox bullpen actually managed to be worse than the Yankee's pen. The reverse of Friday night. The Sox don't need another hitter all that much. Pick up a couple of decent relievers to replace some of the jabronis they have been running out there.

Wong’s July numbers are really bad and his defense is worse!

Jansen has to be an ever so slight improvement just because he hits fly balls and blocks really well

Jansen isn’t a bad pickup. He just does nothing to get Jamie Westbrook and Romy Gonzalez out of the lineup vs LHP…
