Well fellas, I will be at all 3 games in Pittsburgh. I am a new Pirates season ticket holder and am quickly falling in love with that team since they are actually fun to watch most nights. I’m quite torn over who to root for. It’s clear that the Red Sox aren’t going anywhere this year. The Pirates still might. I don’t want us to win the series and drag the Pirates down to our level

Losses don't even bother me that much this year. If the owners don't care about winning why should we?

I don’t care about the losses either, but it’s the way they keep losing with bad fundamentals on D, and on the base paths, so why even bother to watch. I haven’t watched the last three games, but I did go to Portland to watch the Sea Dogs today.

Red alert, red alert!!! Two Cleveland players, an infielder and an outfielder, collided on a ball both could catch, and the ball was dropped.

As we all know, this is never, ever supposed to happen. In fact, that's why Rafael Devers has been condemned right here on talksox--for backing into O'Neill, who reportedly said he had the ball that Devers in fact caught.

Posters on Cleveland's talkguards site (if it exists) maybe aren't quite as concerned, since their MLB club starts more than five legitimate big leaguers daily -- and they don't have to worry about two of them getting knocked to the IL on the same play...

... with an ownership that has refused for years to spend market prices to supply roster depth with actual talent that can contribute wins above replacement players.

Sox payroll this year is $180M, 11th in MLB. Cleveland's is $101M, 26th in MLB.

So the Yankees DFAd Kevin Smith, whose calling card is infield defense, including SS.

Think Breslow notices?

This team just stinks. Maybe they win fewer games than last year

A well deserved loss today as most of them have been, and a well deserved 3-7 Home stand, which leads to a 10-10 record deserved, or not.🤭🙈

The same old go-to for the few who dwell on budget numbers elicits my same old How much of it is dead money?: paying Sale to pitch for someone else, paying unavailable players to rehab on the IL (some yet to wear the Sox uni: Grissom, Fulmer, Hendricks... Mondesi last year, Paxton the year before), paying mistakes to ride the pine?

And all GMs have them -- DD's Sale, Bloom's Story and Yoshida, Breslow's Giolito; it doesn't matter if it's bad luck or poor decisions -- the difference for fans in some cities is they know that their teams' front office and owners will fill in roster needs with acceptable or better substitutes... so fans can continue to justify paying to watch them.

You complain about today's worst infield in history, but won't acknowledge that the fans are stuck with what the Red Sox paid for?

It did not take Joe Jacques very long to fit right in and stink the place up , after doing basically the same for Worcester. 2 inherited runners scored, 1 of his own scored in a 1 run defeat, , 1.80 WHIP , 3 hits , all while getting 5 outs on 33 pitches.

We seem so dedicated to the likes of Brasier, Dalbec and Jacquez, yet let our studs go.

I've heard that stadium is awesome. Enjoy the games.

They seem hellbent on making Hamilton and Dalbec into Major Leaguers…

I went to one of the Orioles games two weekends ago and I fell in love with the ballpark! My office is also on the 19th floor right across the Allegheny so I have a beautiful look into the ballpark every single day. Staring at that view is what got me through tax season. The hope of a new beginning come spring. That’s why we love baseball!

We were in Kansas for a week recently and caught a game- I was impressed with their stadium and couldn't help but think... it would be easy to cheer this team on if I lived here. Never been to Pittsuburg but assume the same about those teams there. Here in a few years I'm going to relocate... who knows where I end up- as much as I hate it Boston is way too expensive to consider.

Despite their struggles over the last 30 years, the Pirates have a dedicated fan base. It’s been very easy to become a Pirates fan! Steelers were even easier considering the fact that I’ve never truly considered myself a Patriots fan, or a fan of any other team for that matter

I lived in Kansas 3 times, a total of 5 years, but only went to a few Royals games the last 3, 1986-89. Lovely ballpark, which can get hot in July and August. Bo Jackson was playing for the Royals.

It's doable.... ladies and gentlemen, your 2024 Red Sox GM... David Copperfield!

I live in FL and all these teams f***ing suck.

TBR - joke stadium

MIA - joke ownership

Heat - never been likeable

Panthers - can't root for a team that plays in Sunshine, FL

Lightning - the only team that is a maybe

Jaguars - c'mon man

Dolphins - how can you root for a football team that can never win in weather under 40 degrees? also did their QB dirty with that concussion stuff

At least they got actual college sports down here.
