The plan of competing while rebuilding is obvious. The competing part really failed this year.

The pressure on Bloom for 2023 is pretty large.

The Rays have something we don't and can't match for young players.....Kevin Cash

I think you misspelled the word. It is spelled oblivious.

I don't subscribe to it.

As ornery as the fans are now, just imagine if we were looking at 3 straight bummer years in a row.

The fans do count a little. They're paying good money to watch this.

Someone on here said to consider the source, and I do that when I hear that it’s alright for a team with a $200M+ payroll to go through a rebuild that might take 5-6 Bloom yrs to accomplish such as some on here are giving Bloom to do. On the other hand Many here, and out in the big world don’t give a dam about farm rankings, and the build up of suspects like Jeter Downs, and only care what’s happening at the moment, and don’t want any part of a 1 year rebuild let alone a 2,3,4, or 5 year so called Bloom plan to take effect. To me if you know what you are doing, and I don’t believe Bloom does you shouldn’t get this bad. I think MOST fans are more than ornery, and embarrassed too.

I don't see Henry doing what he did with Ben, and he gave Ben 3 last place finishes before pulling the plug on his 5+ year plan.

I'm thinking Henry will be more patient with the whole farm-building plan he obviously endorsed when he hired Bloom, in the first place. I think the 2021 "tease team" actually hurt the optics of a slower rebuild, although not many Sox fans have the patience to sit through a 5 year rebuild. The rabid and demanding fanbase forces top brass to play thing "halfway" and sometimes gets in the way of having a quicker turn-around- hence the "mixed messages" and statements about there being a lack of a cohesive plan. IMO, our plan is so multi-faceted, it is, by definition, confusing, contradictory and hard to pinpoint exactly what the top priorities are. In reality, we have opposing and conflicting priorities than make rebuilding complicated and jerky.

JH will do nothing, no changes, Bloom and Cora will be back so don't knock yourself out wishing for anything, next year will drive us just as crazy, no depth which is needed so have a shot and a beer and relax

... starting in the offseason, when all of us here waste too much time speculating and wishing and hoping for significant roster changes and upgrades that won't happen... and instead, will yawn at a new group of retreads added to the rotation and bullpen that will inevitably get hurt, and hurt the club's standing as a result.

I think you just gave the best description of what Bloom's plan is.

No, it's what fans liker you are going to get by demanding miracles, every year.

JH spends in cycles. The spending cycle is due, this winter.

BTW, I'm totally relaxed. I'm not the one blowing gaskets, because we don't win, every year. I'm fine with a some sacrifice in the now, in order to reach the glory in the later.

Apparently, much of the fanbase, and society in general are all about the NOW!

You are right for Bungling Bloom to produce a winning team would be a miracle.

Here is my prediction. Bloom was not hired to produce winning teams. He was hired to reduce spending. This by the way he failed to do by still exceeding the lux tax. Once Henry is finished buying his NBA team, he will fire Bloom and hire a winner which Bloom is not.

He cut a massive amount of salary from a failed 2019 team. You think winning in 2020 or 2021 should have been expected and not a miracle?

Yes, he spent large on one player, this past winter, and we suck. For that you claim he failed.

Feel good having so many irate fans sharing your views. That's all you'll ever get, if Bloom keeps trying to make you type happy on a shoe-string budget.

I keep on hearing what JH has done in the past such as spending in cycles, but what people have a hard time comprehending is that this is not the same JH as even 5 years ago, so live in the past all you want, and if you are ok with a last place team good for you, but most don’t want any part of it, or any kind of a plan that it is included. Wildcard standings update. 5 games below the O’s in last place, and that to me, and most is NEVER ALRIGHT.

I think Bloom the bungler has the only team "with a shoe string budget" to use your term who not only exceeds the lux tax but misses the playoffs. No wonder every one is confused including ownership.

Bloom, Bloom, Bloom will bring nothing more than GLOOM and DOOM. Are you saying there is something wrong with being irate over a last place losing team? Deny, deny accuse that Bloom is not a problem.

Best line of the day is from Chad Finn, who wrote that the Bloom trade of Betts was "A dollar bill for a quarter, a random loose button and a bottle cap"

And some on here thinks he couldn’t have done any better. Shudder the thought of what he would end up for Raffy.

Is Verdugo really that bad?

He's a career .285 hitter.

And we also got what.....5 years of Verdugo for 1 year of Betts? a half a season because of Covid where the team wasn't going anywhere too. If people can accept Betts wasn't resigning here then you really can't bash the Betts trade. The JBJ trade is Blooms real blunder.

I don’t think Dugo is all that bad, but nothing more , or less than JAG. Jeter, and Wong on the other hand I think could have been better picks for.

We all know the company line on here that we got 5 years of Dugy for 1 year of Betts, but my main point is you just replaced a future HOF talent with just a JAG. You want to do the same with Raffy?

If one takes a look back at Blooms career, he has no track record of pursuing HOF talent . His forte is improving at the margins. The analogy of the gambler who plays at the $5 blackjack table expecting to become Elon Musk is an apt one.

Do people think the Sox should have gotten back another future Hall of Famer for Betts?

Ask any Dodgers fan or put anyone in LA's front office on a polygraph, and they'll all rejoice and admit that they traded Verdugo, a button and a bottle cap for 12 years of Mookie Betts.

It will be the same thing if the Sox trade Devers. His new team that gladly swaps a 12-pack of empty (but redeemable) Coors Light cans and two eBay re-packs of 1990 baseball card commons for one year of Raffy wouldn't even be dealing if they didn't intend to make it a entire decade of Raffy.

He has no track record of pursuing Hall of Talent?? Like he avoided drafting it? Or didn’t trade for it?

Because we all know the Rays’ ownership was willing to meet those types of salary demands…

It doesn't matter why. He has no experience punto.

Why should Bloom be any any different from Friedman when he went from the Rays to the Dodgers?

Because fans have been looking for reasons to not like Bloom since he was hired?

Because Friedman was the conductor and Bloom first violin.
