Sucks to be the METS

The most notable, shortstop Francisco Lindor and his monster, 10 year, $341 million contract has been underperfoming from the start of the year. For the season, in 113 games, Lindor is batting .229/.323/.401, with a wRC+ of 103. What Lindor lacks in offense for the 2021 season he at least makes up for in defense with a 5.4 dWAR. For the sake of the Mets organization, let’s hope Lindor is more the 7.2 win player he was in 2018 moving forward in his career, and not the 2.8 win player he is right at the moment. The Mets paid for the 7.2 win player.

Another notable is Lindor’s fellow countryman, Javier Báez. Báez was traded from the Cubs to be Lindor’s double play partner at second for the rest of the 2021 season. The Mets gave up OF prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong, who settles in nicely as a top five prospects in the Cubs organization, for a player that will most likely be a rental, and a rental that also most likely will not help them get to the postseason.

OvertheMonster writer is little untruthful.......Lindor's 10 year deal starts in 2022. He's only making $22.3M this year.

Well, he's still .974 in Sept (14 PAs).

Also, Marwin only has 47 PAs since July 11th.

Still irksome. If the Sox are lucky enough to make it to the ALCS vs. Houston, and Marwin bats against them, Barnes better blow him away.

30M contracts are only good for certain players. Mookie? Yes. Xander/Lindor? No.

Agreed.

Talk to Bogey, this winter. If he's looking for Lindor money, consider trading him before all we get is a comp pick.

@ChrisCotillo

Garrett Whitlock goes to the IL. Brasier called back up.

Brasier retains option year.

What's wrong with Whitlock?

Not brazier? I can see the opposing hitters smiling right now. Meanwhile the jays and Yankees are ordering playoff tickets.

Standings Update...top 3 all won, one less game to make up ground, bad news for Yankees.

65 losses Sox, 10 to play (1 vs Mets, 3 vs Yanks, 3 vs Orioles, 3 vs Nationals)

66 losses Jays 11 to play (1 vs Rays, 4 vs Twins, 3 vs Yanks, 3 vs Orioles)

--------------------------------------------------------

67 losses Yanks 10 to play (1 vs Rangers, 3 vs Sox, 3 vs Rays, 3 vs Jays)

68 losses A's (5 vs Mariners)

69 losses Mariners

If the Yankees take a WC spot, they deserve it.

Jays at MIN may not be all that easy.

Does anybody know the status on Arroyo?

He's been activated. Lopez was returned to AAA.

While Iglesias is hitting, it'll be hard to play Arroyo. However, he needs in game reps before the playoffs because Iglesias is ineligible.

Brasier has been good a lot more than bad since joining the Sox. He's got better numbers than several others in the pen.

I'm not sure why he gets so much flack.

He's not great, but he's been pretty good most of the time.

He was very good in 18, but has slipped since then. He gets blame because he was a part of some imploding pens. Really guilty by association. He may not be the 2018 version again, but he could be a decent middle reliever. However, he's already 33 and there isn't much meat left on the bone.

Indeed.

His 2019-2020 numbers still beat many of the guys we have in the pen and their 2021 numbers.

Enough to make him top 12-13 and worthy of being on the 26.

And during this 6 game winning streak, MADSTORK has not posted once. Interesting!

First game we lose, assuming we do, he'll be back.

Don't see much of the ghost, either.

They are harmless albeit eccentric. The people who they trigger are the nutjobs.

Says the poster who is so easily and often triggered into spewing unsolicited rants and insults.

You fall for the bait every time. Like a tunnel painted on the side of a wall. You're going to run into it every damn time.

C'mon man.

I know I do, but it's funny how he calls people who respond "nutjobs," when he leads the league doing that, okay maybe he's second to me, is a bit ironic.
