Mets are getting Baez.

This deadline is crazy.

At this point, Hoyer has no reason to hang on to Hendricks, who's on the Cubs' books for at least another $28 million. He's probably not going to be around by the time Chicago contends again, and could fetch a good prospect in the next 45 minutes... like Jeter Downs.

So far we've acquired one player who is on the IL and we don't know what position he'll play.

Assuming we don’t do anything i think the media will have us as trading deadline losers but in the end none of this matters if the Sox pitching staff turns it around. That’s a big if though.

Oh, someone mentioned...

I'm the someone who mentioned that I never felt Erod was a tough competitor. That comes from just watching him both as a NIBBLER on the mound and the dull expression on his face when he's on TV. He has had success before (2019) but has been seriously ill more recently, but I never thought his head was much in the game.

That’s what bothers me about the guy. I don’t think he’s a great competitor. His nibbling is really annoying. I like pitchers who want to get better and get mad at themselves when they have a s*** start.

Phillies get Gibson and Ian Kennedy. What pitchers are still available?

Not much left. Looks like bloom will rolled with these guys. He’s going to get killed if the pitching lets us down here.

2022 Possible LineUp

C Vaz

1B Schwarber

2B Kike

SS Xander

3B Devers

LF Verdugo

CF Duran

RF Renfroe

DH JD

SP Sale, Eovaldi, Pivetta, Whitlock

BP Barnes, Houck, Sawamura, Taylor, Darwinzon, Brasier

Not sure about DJ having an opt out

Schwarber needs to be re-signed...he can opt out.

Fiduciary Responsibility of Bloom

He has to look in the eyes of 26 baseball players and tell them he's done everything he can to make the team competitive.

Not one single player gives damn about Downs.

I guess he can lie.

Someone mentioned Kyle Hendricks of Cubs.....hitters are batting .277 against him with pitcher batting.

I wouldn’t mind trying houck as a starter. If the kid could find another pitch he would be a very good pitcher.

The later is not a problem. The fact he is injured, is.

I want to believe Bloom did a diligence regarding this, so I expect this injury is a minor thing or at least manageable.

He will play LF, maybe a little C/DH too

Odds say, we ain't getting an arm, so it could mean they will put all the money on Sale and Houck.

He's said all along that he won't mortgage the future. Some of the deals made today were too short sighted.

As stated by others, not all those maneuvering can even get to the Wild card round. But bless their little hearts for trying.

A's and Mariners start the day with better records than Yankees and Jays

His WHIP would be 2nd best in this rotation.

Guess what… you don’t need to have an all-star at every position to be a winning ball club. Pinky promise.

Meh I wasn’t impressed with Heaney. Still has an ERA over 5.

A fly ball pitcher in Yankee Stadium will be fantastic. I hope the Sox don't have to face him there.

Well he showed his head isn’t always in the game when he forgot to cover first base in the World Series…
