Not as influential as it used to be :(

The only other eagle scout I know is my dad. I never did the scout thing.

Most things seem trivial compared to COVID-19. With a large family and the numbers being posted, it is only a matter of time until this virus strikes within the family. Probably the same for most of us. In our case, my neices son-in-law is now in ICU on a ventilator and a new med fighting for his life. He is young and strong but still felled by this cursed disease. They have two fairly young children. We are praying for his recovery. Everyone -Stay safe.

Very sorry to hear that oldtimer. Me and my partner both got hit with it 10 days ago. I was lucky in that the symptoms weren't too bad, but she got hammered. It was scary for a little while but thankfully two recoveries. I've got everything crossed your nieces son-in-law comes out of it just fine too.

Still going roughly. Ventillator although heavy does of the new drug may be helping. Fingers crossed as of now. Thanks for your concern. Warning for younger people, you too can be hit hard with this. Varies based on genetics I think. So far us old folks here in Florida have escaped the disease, but every day the risk continues. While in my 80th year, I am still out there playing decent softball and enjoying life. Take care of yourself and no doubt you can get there and more. Just please take care.

Fingers crossed for him Oldtimer. Take care, my friend.

So saddening to hear. It does seem like genetics, because why else would it be a crapshoot on how it affects each person? My mom almost definitely had it, and I think I had it too, but I was almost completely asymptomatic. It's luck of the draw I guess. Stay strong!

My wife was wondering if she had it, since she had everything else in December/January. Diagnoses included pneumonia, strep throat, a UTI, and then just for the fun of it all - shingles! At one point she had an infection that resulted in her losing her sense of smell and taste, which is now known to be a symptom of COVID in some people. But then I think a lot of viral infections can cause that.

I actually hope she had it,because then we would have all potentially built up a temporary immunity. But I doubt it...

Yeah, we're not sure either. When it becomes available, we're all going to get tested for antibodies. I have allergy symptoms, but any COVID-19 I had was asymptomatic. Yet there's plenty of people my age in the ICU, as oldtimer mentioned

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME BASEBALL?!?!?!?

@alexspeier

MLB distinguishes between what the Red Sox did -- suggesting that video replay coordinator JT Watkins and 'a limited number of Red Sox players' were updating sign-sequence info used with RISP in-game -- from what the Astros did

https://twitter.com/alexspeier/status/1253037562417033216

"Conduct was far more limited in scope and impact (than Stros)."

"Did not find that Cora... or most players knew" that Watkins was illegally updating his analysis."

"Red Sox front office consistently communicated rules and made commendable efforts towards instilling a culture of compliance."

BREAKING: #RedSox penalties:

*Loss of 2020 2nd-round pick.

*Ban of replay operator J.T. Watkins through 2020 playoffs and from doing same job in ‘21.

*Ban of Alex Cora through ‘20 playoffs, but only for conduct with #Astros.

This is pretty damn good news. The loss of that draft pick is the only stinger, but it's much less than initially feared.

I think we can give Jacko a bit of heat now, tempered of course by our appreciation for his service.

It took long enough.

Managers do tend to get recycled. Some one will hire him. That is for sure.

There's a pretty good chance it's the Red Sox. Even Shaughnessy was hinting at this.

Manfred: "Though we agreed not to discipline players who were truthful in their interviews, based on the findings of the investigation, this is not a case in which I would have otherwise considered imposing discipline on players."

It's 100% why Roenicke is interim.

Unfortunately for them, that team will now have a shadow over it because people will wonder how much of that dominance was due to cheating.

Nope.
