Isn't Farrell kinda sorta married with three kids though?

Apparently he and his wife have been separated for a couple of years.

I don't really care, but seeing what happened to Dell and Whatney, why even go there?

Maybe it's a natural consequence of networks hiring good-looking single women to cover sports teams?

Seems like a Red Sox thing to me since it hasn't happened to the Bruins, C's or Pats yet.

I would bet that somebody could dig some s*** up if they tried real hard. Maybe even if they didn't try real hard.

scoop on ramirez

kimbrel’s frame was marred by a muff by new first baseman hanley ramirez, who could not scoop a ball that bounced in front of his glove on a throw from shortstop xander bogaerts. An average first baseman makes that play, which is why the red sox marked the occasion as a teachable moment for a veteran learning a new defensive position once again in spring training. Bogaerts was charged with an error.

fuuuuu

At least this experiment is only 1 year.

MLB players and coaches have wayyyyyyyy to much time on their handa. Too much time to eat....too much time to make cell phone calls to baseball groupies.....too much time for a little sports reporter hanky panky.......just entirely too much time, especially for the money they make.

I get to watch every regular season Sox game, so I won't complain (too much). Once the regular season starts, Extra Innings broadcasts every MLB game in my area except for the Os and the Nats, which I can watch on the local cable network.

The biggest complaint is having to watch the feed of their choice, which is usually the home team's feed. It can be extremely annoying listening to other announcers cheering for their team.

Seriously? You watch all 162? Good for you.

I've only had that work for away games. If MLB.TV can't see your IP address they default to your credit card info, which is most likely your home zip. Then you get blacked out.

I call total bullcrap on this.

mlb.tv is unwatchable for me, and many others complain about it, no matter their connection speed. Jacoby Ellsbury will back me up on this, it's a poor product.

You're telling me.

No cable or tv here in my home. Lived in other countries where the only thing was online streaming MLB.tv.

It's an incredibly crappy product.

One year you could pay for post season games. I did, the Sox were in the post season. I think this was 2013.

So the think about it is was you could only view ONE camera angle, or you could change it if you wanted which was not worth while because once you changed it the action was already done. Picture watching a playoff game only from the camera angle from behind the catcher.

And the blackouts are crazy..... I'm 3 hours from Dallas, 3 hours from Houston...... but I'm blacked out from both local broadcasts.........

f*** MLB.TV....

I'm always surprised to hear this from people. The streaming quality has always been top notch for me. I watch it on a computer sometimes, sometimes on a Kindle Fire.. but usually on my phone- chromecasted to my big screen tv... and it always works great.

This may be the beginning of the Red Sox setting up Farrell for his exit. They need to dirty him up if they want to move on from him after the cancer.

There is speculation that Farrell and Moran have been involved for a couple of years now, and that Henry allowed this story to leak now for that very reason. If there is any truth to that, then shame on Henry. What a greasy thing to do, not only to Farrell but to Moran.

Personally, I don't see what the issue is with their involvement anyway. Farrell has been separated from his wife, and they are two consenting adults. What they do is their business.

Pretty much. I miss some games due to being out of town, and I usually have to record the west coast games. Other than that, it's something I look forward to every day. I'm bummed when the Sox have an off day or there is a rain out.

The Extra Innings package is the best thing since sliced bread.

If Henry had something to do with this, it means Farrell will not be starting the season as Sox manager. That's the only way it would make any sense.

The Sox MO is to sling mud on all the guys they are pushing out the door. The story was leaked by the Globe...

Agreed. In this case the proof will be if Farrell does in fact get pushed. From a baseball perspective they should do it sooner rather than later. Or maybe they're hoping the team gets off to a bad start to seal the deal...ugh.

Yup, hope they aren't giving up on the season already. If they didn't like Farrell, they should have dumped him in December.

If they get off to a bad start, I don't think that they will have to worry about trying to find anything other than that to politely ask him to leave. Don't think that rumors about his love life will have much of an impact one way or another. It's all about the winning and the losing.

I don't know if Henry had anything to do with it or not. But if he did, I don't think it would mean that he's not starting the season as the Sox manager. I think it would mean that Henry is trying to "soften the blow" should they end up firing Farrell.

IMO, Farrell will get a chance. If the team does well, Farrell stays. If the team is mediocre or poor, Farrell will be fired. The firing of a recent cancer victim won't seem as harsh if his image is tarnished somewhat by this recent story.

From PA:

830 on a Sunday morning and Hanley Ramirez out the clubhouse door to go do 1B drills with Brian Butterfield. Actually seemed happy about it.

Hanley Ramirez working on catching low throws by fielding sharp one-hoppers off a bat. Who's to say if this works, but he's trying.

A couple of days ago, Hanley asked to stay in the game to get some more reps. Remy said on the telecast today that both Hanley and Pablo are putting in extra work.

It's early, but so far, I'm encouraged by both Hanley and Sandoval.

Me too, It's a godsend to us over the pond. Coverage always works fine and compared to NFL is very good value for money.

Used to buy it every year, but for some reason the quality has gone to s*** for me. Not worth the money, will have to resort to online streaming sources and cable for the few games we get on ESPN/Fox here. Hilariously, it started sucking AFTER I almost tripled my internet speed. LOGIC!

Just heard a report from a couple of local guys who have just come back from spring training. There has been quite a bit of positive stuff written about Hanley these days but not so much about Pablo. There take on things after watching them put in their work is that Sandoval works on all aspects of his game as much as anyone and actually looks good doing it.
