  1. Kinda remembering why I used posting for a while there.
  2. And others steamroll september after a s***** august and get far into the playoffs.
  3. Or maybe they just overvalued the quality of the team, expecting Rodríguez to bounce back and Sale to come in. The one consistent thing about this team was the offense and look. Baseball is weird.
  4. Ownership decides on large expenses either way. Bloom was hired because they want to avoid the "competitive 2 years, suck for 3" shitshow, by building a sustainable contender.
  5. Dude, a700 and I came to this exact same conclusion on this exact same topic many moons ago, when I was known by another name, and I lived in another country.
  6. Bellhorn is a peaceful Canadian.
  7. Non-repeatable skills are those that can't be executed with any kind of consistency: In baseball, situational hitting and pitching are what we frame as non-repeatable. You can consistently throw hard, run fast, show range in the IF/OF, hit the ball hard, or throw strikes. You can't consistently hit above your skill level in pressure situations (but you can hit worse), throw harder in pressure situations, have more range in pressure situations or run harder in pressure situations.
  8. Some common sense right 'ere mates.
  9. I dislike Rob Manfred. That is all.
  10. So does batting and pitching choke, btw. Also, throwing 95 is a repeatable skill. As is hitting homeruns.
