  1. Kinda remembering why I used posting for a while there.
  2. And others steamroll september after a s***** august and get far into the playoffs.
  3. Or maybe they just overvalued the quality of the team, expecting Rodríguez to bounce back and Sale to come in. The one consistent thing about this team was the offense and look. Baseball is weird.
  4. Ownership decides on large expenses either way. Bloom was hired because they want to avoid the "competitive 2 years, suck for 3" shitshow, by building a sustainable contender.
  5. Dude, a700 and I came to this exact same conclusion on this exact same topic many moons ago, when I was known by another name, and I lived in another country.
  6. Bellhorn is a peaceful Canadian.
  7. Non-repeatable skills are those that can't be executed with any kind of consistency: In baseball, situational hitting and pitching are what we frame as non-repeatable. You can consistently throw hard, run fast, show range in the IF/OF, hit the ball hard, or throw strikes. You can't consistently hit above your skill level in pressure situations (but you can hit worse), throw harder in pressure situations, have more range in pressure situations or run harder in pressure situations.
  8. Some common sense right 'ere mates.
  9. I dislike Rob Manfred. That is all.
  10. So does batting and pitching choke, btw. Also, throwing 95 is a repeatable skill. As is hitting homeruns.
  11. I've had women who are into even weirder s***. One of them was a Yankees *and* soccer fan. Had to break it off.
  12. I lurked, but I'd forgotten the password and email I used to sign up here.
  13. You're like the Aaron Boone of posting.
  14. Whatever you said, you're wrong Bellhorn, because you've been infected with sbf syndrome, and I don't think I can trust you anymore.
  15. Baseball is not even the first sport I heard the term used. I heard it used by a football coach regarding spirals, so no.
  16. Bro, I live in the Dominican Republic. Just be amazed at my superior knowledge of the english language. Expecting me to keep up with pop culture references from when I didn't even know english yet may be asking for too much outta me.
  17. Y'all wouldn't know funny if it dropkicked you in the face.
  18. It's still right in the context you hate it in, unfortunately. Things that are correct don't stop being correct because we don't like them. Example, I hate the idea that Gerrit Cole is still elite even when not allowed to cheat with sticky stuff, but it's true.
  19. This is a great, well thought out post.
