  1. Me too, It's a godsend to us over the pond. Coverage always works fine and compared to NFL is very good value for money.
  2. I think a lot of them wear it as a fashion New York city thing rather than support for the Yankees. The worst thing about being a Brit fan is that you constantly have to answer two questions - Isn't it just like rounders and why's it called the World series when only american teams take part. I have some stock answers but the rounders one takes a while!
  3. Hi Andrew - fellow UK Sox fan here. you can tell by the late night bags under my eyes! i've had a thing for US sports since i was a kid- I used to listen to Baseball/NFL on american Forces radio when I was a kid, but interest really took off when you could start to see games live on TV. I got into them because pre 2004 they reminded me a lot of Everton and I felt an affinity with them as a result. Have you managed to get over and see them yet? I've been a few times - amazing place. I was lucky enough to see a Big papa walk off homer at one game - man that was great.
  4. I got into the Red Sox in the 70's listening to them on American Forces Radio as a Kid in Liverpool and now have the ability to (occasionally) travel over and also to watch on MLB ESPN etc. They put me in touch with the entire game. I remember looking up places on maps to see where the strangely named teams came from. I didn't understand it then but it was great listening to them. I suppose they changed my life by being the catalyst for my devotion too the game.
  5. That is great. I've bought my tickets, and printed off the view. Only 6 months to wait!!! Very handy for those of us from across the pond.
  6. If the Tex thing doesn't happen now, as seems likely, would we be able to flash some cash around to get someone we want in the catcher role?
  7. No that's cool, thanks for the advice. I've always tended to do that. Do you think it'll get me grief over there? X
  8. Thanks for those. They are good, I hadn't come across them before. It's pretty hard to follow all the info with no one to talk to in real time Rob
  9. Thanks for that chaps.(and the welcome) I'll go and study them now. I'm encouraged by your comments re TW. I think it is the '08 W-L that spooks me. Rob
  10. Help a Guy out from England here, just what catchers are/might be available? and isn't Tim Wakefield just about done now, what with the whole catching a knuckle baller thing Rob
