Seems like Pujols is done. The age is starting to tax him.

The Angels still have him signed for 7 more years at 25 million a year. Wow.

Now tell me how the Porcello extension is so stupid. THAT is a stupid contract.

What I thought was particularly egregious about the Pujols deal was that the A-Rod disaster was sitting there in the Angels' faces as evidence of why this would be a massive mistake.

Next up for scrutiny will be the Miggy deal. But he is raking right now so no one cares.

Because he is a No. 4, at best No 3. His age does not justify 20 M. His stuff doesn't worth 20 M, not in this earth.

On the other hand we agree on Pujol's contract, it is a mess.

So, on a day where four of the five AL East teams are off and there is nothing much to talk about. How is everyone feeling about the season so far? Anyone surprised that the AL East standings are this close currently? Every team is within a 3 games of each other, and only the Blue Jays are below .500, which if they beat the struggling Guardians, could be at .500 by the end of the day.

It's been interesting.

The Yankees and Devil Rays have been winning with offenses that did not exist.

It is still very early to draw many solid conclusions. But it is a good story.

I'm not surprised. The AL East isn't what it used to be.

I'll be shocked if this division sends a WC to the playoffs.

Definitely the Who Will Suck Less division.

I outlawed the term "Devil" in the GT I made a week ago. They will come crashing down. We don't need to refer to them as Devils, because they aren't as intimidating as iin the past. Please don't use that term for the rest of the season. Get with the times. They changed their name years ago.

I'm not surprised that the standings are so close. I figure it will be a tight race all season long. I am surprised that the Yankees offense has been as good as it has been so far. That is ticking me off, and it must stop.

ARod heard you and went 0-6 the other night.

Biggest surprise has got to be the Yankees offense for me. They are tied for 3rd in HRs with 29 currently. I just wonder if they can keep it up. Teixeira has been hitting the ball with more vigor than in recent years. His average is identical to his last year's average, but his power numbers have skyrocketed for someone who is aging in the wrong direction.

They also only have 5 players on the DL (counting the recent addition of Tanaka), I think that number will continue to rise given the age of the team.

I am also surprised at that my Rays have been able to tread water with a league leading 12 players on the DL for most of the month. Our offense is about middle of the pack, which is what I expected, but I think when our pitchers start to come back in May(Cobb and closer Mcgee) and June(Moore) that the team will surprise a lot of people.

Let's see what you get from Moore. He was maddingly inconsistent prior to the injury.

I'm hoping the inconsistency was due to the injury before it was discovered. We shall see what happens when his rehab starts with him. Otherwise I'm liking our front four of Cobb, Smyly, Archer, Odorizzi. Especially with it looking like breakout years from both Archer and Odorizzi.

And Cashman isn't even the GM.

Have faith Kimmi. Sometimes aberrations last a couple days, sometimes a month, but never for a season. Heck even the Twinkies can score 9 runs against Chris Sale so you know anything can happen in baizball.

Lester gets his first Cubs win with 7 shutout innings.

I wonder if Prune Face was watching that game from his cage. Probably should have gagged on his banana, the stupid ass. Losing Lester is going to be felt for a long time.

How exactly do you know this?

The same way I knew Rubby De La Rosa and Alan Webster, those two "great prospects" you kept insisting we got in that trade back in 2012, were s*** on rye and not worth a damn. That's how. Of course, our s***** pitching we currently have would should make anyone with a modicum of smarts know that Lester will be severely missed. Then again, as we have proven in this Yankee series so far our heralded hitting attack has good ability to take the apple in their throats when things get tough. We'll be in last place within a week. We have a s***** team. This is going to be a replay of 2012 and 2014 because we stink. Letting the Yankees beat us twice in a row on our home grounds by close scores is a total disgrace.

I'm going off this board for a month and if things pan out the way they did in '12 and '14 when I took my monthly hiatus, I will return with fire flaming out of my nose and smoke from my ears........AND EVERYONE CONNECTED WITH THE RED SOX WILL BE OPEN SEASON.

You also "knew" that Lavarnway and, if I'm not mistaken, Middlebrooks were can't miss prospects. In other words, you don't know. You have an opinion which may or may not pan out.

Kimmi, you probably have as good comebacks as anyone else on this site. I'm not ceasing to be impressed.

Thanks Thunder. I'm not so sure about that, as there are some pretty witty posters here with some great zingers, but thanks. :)
