I disagree. Just tell the guy "I'm going to give you a day of in 7-14 days, and it will be when we face a LHP/RHP. When we get closer, I should be able to pinpoint the day."

I think there is a limit on how long a rehab goes on, unless the player agrees to stay.

Right now, none of the rehabbing Red Sox appear ready for the majors -- unless it's to strike out. 

Minor League stats: Story 10 K, 4 H; IKF 6 K, 2 H; Ramone Anthony 7 K, 5 H... the only guy above water is Romy 15 K, 17 H -- and we all saw how he did before when rushed to the Show.

Speaking of: after watching Duran all summer in the outfield, I'd rather see him in LF down the stretch than throwing Anthony out there. Roman will have enough to worry about just hitting big league pitching, so when he's ready, let him get comfortable contributing as the fulltime DH.

Plus, Duran's energy makes him a poor DH choice, sitting in the dugout all night except for 3 or 4 ABs.

Olds has been pretty lucky with that BB rate he's carrying. He's a guy that is just destined to give up a big inning here and there.

Roman does have a 1221 OPS TBF. Romy is just sporting a 717.

That's exactly what I said.  You can probably figure out your opponents rotations two weeks out.  Figure out the worst L/L matchups in advance and give them that day off.  Figure out your own lefty/righty GB/FB pitchers and arrange your infield accordingly.

No.  The 2 off of Gray were earned, the 2 off of Olds were unearned.

To determine earned or unearned, the scorer goes back and reconstructs the inning as if the error(s) never happened.  There are certain rules the scorer has to abide by, such as he cannot assume a double play nor can he assume a runner trying to steal would have been out.

In the 1st and 2nd, neither throwing error would have resulted in an out by rule, and subsequent base hits would have scored the runners even if the errors had not happened.  Therefore, the runs are earned.

In the 8th, Sogard's error should have been the second out and the inning should have ended on Mack's ground out; neither run would have scored thus the runs are unearned,

Cora did not do it that way, and several times lefties had days off against RHPs and vice versa.

He picked a day long befor and nothing changed it.

He'll be the Phillies' problem next season. I still don't understand how so many sports talking heads refer to him as a great manager. I must have missed something during the time he was here.

In his last two appearances he was actually very unlucky. Defense didn't help him. Also he sported a decent combo of pitches that often pounded the strike zone.
