I think you should cut him a break.  He should've beaten the crap out of him, but he's otherwise had a very good season.

As for Contreras, every manager has to be thinking "Hmm.  You mean I can get my opponent's best hitter tossed by throwing inside and maybe saying something to him? ...Hell.  Go for it."

I hold very few things more important than BB, but when someone calls you 'boy', they have to get their a$$ kicked.  And if you think it's being orchestrated, and not just a heat of the battle thing, then you retaliate.  You might be able to get Contreras tossed from the game, but I can send your best hitter home with sore ribs.

And I would do it every, single time, until the BS stopped.

Correct, Cavalli is a bitch and I do not blame Contreras for not staying in the game.  If Contreras only gets 3 games, but if he had gotten to him - he pummeled him and got 8 games....Id rather take the 8 game suspension. 

Agreed Cavalli is not trying to fight, hes just trying to get the player to react , and Cavalli deserves to get beaten up.  

Im actually not mad at Contreras.  My fandom of Contreras went up.  I withdrew the like on A700hitters post that Willson is a hot head and thumbs downed Freds he needs to stay cool.

The league penalties should be as follows: COntreras 3 game suspension.  Cavalli: has to bare-knuckle box Contreras 3 rounds.

Well, at least Cavalli said all the right things post-game and later, and so did Contreras.  So maybe just let it go and play baseball.  (Although of course what the RS are doing now, with occasional exceptions, doesn't appear to be baseball at all.)

The Con Man got a 6 game suspension last year for throwing a hissy fit on a ball-strike call so I don’t feel sorry for him at all. As I said the pitcher crossed the line for adding the boy to the comment.

Contreras and Cavalli get 7 day suspensions    subject to appeal. A key regular player vs a once in 5 day pitcher. Not equitable

I don't know,  Contreras coming off one ejection and then tossing helmets and all that wrassling around, both guys getting 7 seems about right.  Won't hurt us, who suck with or without him.  But I don't want to be waatching every game wondering whether C will snap.  Cavalli apologized (and who gives a f. whether sincere or not), Con claimed not to know there were any racist implications ...  So fine. Let's play what little baseball is left.
