I've already posted enough negatives about Mayer. It's time for someone else to carry the ball.

That error set up the inning, but Guerrero has to be a little tougher and also stop throwing his fastball down.  If they catch up to 100+ up top, tip your hat to the hitter.  Down is much easier to get to.

Time for Slaten to go back on the IL.

He’s definitely needs to be moved to mop up duty.  He does not have the mental make up for late and tied or ahead work.

Incredibly bad showing, last 2 days.

And for punishment the Sox go back to Fenway to play NYY

Good luck !

They did win yesterday.  Monday was worse than this.

Biggest thing I saw both Monday and today is late in the game, the Rockies’ hitters just try. and put the ball in play; Sox hitters try to hit the ball farther by swinging harder.

Lose the series to a bad team with no pitching.

If that doesn't seal this season what will.

Breslow's plan collapses on his head

Are the Scots still sitting in the seats at Fenway? I think the Sox should wear kilts in the series against the Yankems.

Of course, in city connect colors.

Kyle Freeland has to be one of the worst long term starting pitchers in MLB.

Of the pitchers who have thrown 1,000 IP since he came to MLB:

2nd to last in ERA

dead last in FIP

3rd to last in xFIP

2nd to last k/9

3rd to last BABIP

$74M to be a healthy arm that gets beaten like a rented mule for the Rockies. He's awful at Coors and on the road too.

If he wasn’t left handed, he’d be out of MLB.

Mayer has not lived up to the hype of being the #4 overall draft pick. I think its too early to write him off but if he doesn't stay healthy and have a good season in 2027, then it may be time to say, he will never be what he was advertised to be.

Anthony is anybody's guess. Some think he needs surgery and should have had it weeks ago.

Casas has not even started hitting yet.

Romy and Sandoval are rehabbing.

Mayer is day-to-day (left foot sore,) and IKF has increased swelling in his arm, so that's not good. Sogard is hitting off a tee.

Crochet hasn't even started throwing. Moran got a cortisone injection and will not throw for a few days. Oviedo and Crawford have not started throwing, yet. Houck hopes to start throwing soon.

None of that matters. What matters is that we move up a notch in our quest to be the worst team in all of baseball and securing the top pick. It’s best if all those injured players stay out of sight for the rest of the year.

This franchise absolutely sucks

Didn't know they were playing early.  Oh well, turned to the Dodgers: guy named Mookie just made an incredible defensive play, 3 for 3 with a HR so far.   A joy to watch (with Ohtani as a bonus). I'll catch Devers and Bogaerts later on.   May they all do well.
