The Sox starter has a +7 run ERA advantage. For the love of all that is holy, win this effing game.

I am not sure there is anything left to root for. Last night the starter pitched great , Guerrero pitched great, then the strength of the team the back end of the bullpen did something I have never seen and probably never will again, 8 straight hits to the worst team in baseball to blow the game

they are sellers and in the last two months we will be watching the AAA guys playing at Fenway while the overpaid veterans get the summer off on the IL or are playing elsewhere

Sully is gonna shove it down their throats. Sox fans will then wonder "why did we let another hometown guy get drafted away?"

Bregman, .693 OPS, 6 HR in 76 games. 5 years, $175M. No thanks. Not worth $35M per year.

Kyle Schwarber, .959 OPS, 29 HR in 14 less at bats than Bregman. 5 years, $150M. $30M per. Boy did we miss out on our ANALYSIS.

I think Bregman misses Fenway's short left field. I think we dodged a bullet.

Club house leader is overrated. Not worth $35M per if the on the field production isn't there.

We could have had

Bregman, .693 OPS, 6 HR ($35M/5 years) vs Durbin .646 OPS, 5 HR  (.796M) - just show this to John Henry, he's doing back flips

Xander, .659 OPS, 8 HR ($25M/11 years)

Devers, .735 OPS, 11 HR ($31M/10 years) along with

Yoshida, .647 OPS, 1 HR ($18M/5 years)

Story, .547 OPS, 3 HR ($23M/6 years)

Combined 29 HR, oh wait, Schwarber also has 29 HR.

We might as well sit tight for another year before we make another bad contract. (Arias looks better and better, lol)

Who did Seigler think was running? Ernie Lombardi?

Ernie Lombardi, who was a catcher during the 30's and 40's, is considered the slowest base runner in MLB history. Many times he would get thrown out at 1st by the right fielder. However, being the fine hitter that he was, he finished his fairly long career with a very respectable BA of .306.

Sad as this choice is, I'd rather have Masa as DH over Duran.

I’m not sure I’d go that far, but Duran really needs a couple days off.

At least Masa puts the ball in play. The longer the Sox delay trading Duran, the less he's gonna be worth. I'm not even sure his value right now is as high as some posters think.

Why can't they play like this at home????

My thought is that the LH batters can't hit the ball to left to take advantage of the wall and most of the RH batters can't reach the wall. IOW, this Sox offense wasn't built for Fenway.

Not sure why Eaton wasn't up before now.   He was one of the best players we had in the last month last year.  And he had to wait 3 months for the team to bring him up.  Durbin stinks.  Use him at 3rd.
