This Red Sox season may be frustrating, but Payton Tolle is a delight.

My heart wants to believe there is a season to root for but my head is aware the front office isn't going to do a thing to help. It is games like last night that just tears at fans. A decent pitching performance but the manager pulls him after 4 2/3 which sends two messages. I don't trust this pitcher to gut it out against a weak hitting Tampa team and this offense can't score. There was a time when I didn't worry about being down by a run or two. This summer sucks. Also, Crochet and Anthony not rushing back anytime soon sends a deeper message as well.

Tonight we get to face Martinez who is having a career year with a 2.29 era

Early had thrown 96 pitches into the 5th inning, which is a lot of pitches with 4 walks helping raise the pitch count.

oh I understand, but one more out? 110 pitches in 2026? I won't get into that there was a time that starting pitchers got upset in these situations and could pitch regardless of pitch count but he couldn't get one more out? this team collectively seems fragile and weak

the other night misiorowski only in his 2nd season in the 7th inning waved off Murphy from pulling him, that was refreshing to see from a kid

I get what you’re saying and I agree, but the Red Sox have been pulling Ranger when he didn’t want to come out early a few times too.

Maybe they should try pitching better beforehand.

Or backhand. They could toss reverse spins like slow-pitch softballers and save their arms for a season that matters.

The least they can do is try out some of those pitches in BP to guys like Durbin and Masa to see if they can reach the wall. It would make everyone feel good about being pro athletes.

More efficient would be more like it.

White Sox calling up Braden Montgomery. Power hitting outfielder the Sox included in the Crochet trade. The Sox will regret putting him in the deal. They need power hitting players more than ever right now.

Let’s see, Early was at 96 pitches in the 5th inning (most high stress since runners had been constantly on all game), hadn’t been sharp and had just allowed the go ahead run to score. Guerrero comes in and ends the inning by striking out a guy on 4 pitches (2 fouls) and then pitches the 6th allowing 1 hit.

Are you really complaining about a move that worked?

Not entirely sure the Red Sox need more rookies right now.

Does everyone really regret the Crochet deal?  Recently I’ve heard the Six shouldn’t have included Meidroth, and now they shouldn’t have included Montgomery.   Is Crochet unwanted or do folks think the White Sox were going to just hand him over?

Instead of calling Duran, Rafaela, Abreu the leadoff lineup in the 1st inning, why not just call those guys,

The First Quick Outs
