Yoshida's hitting may be another victim of Driveline. He needs to go sooner than later if he can't start slashing line drives.

He should have been gone over the winter if Henry the Cheap wasn’t lying to us about making winning a priority.
I remember several posters here over the winter saying they weren’t worried about signing bums like Gaspar and IKF because they were just ancillary pieces who wouldn’t play every day. Well guess what-they are playing every day.

Martinez with 49 pitches through 5 innings , only allowing 2 hits tells the story

The story is that he is pitching to a bunch of AA bums

But with this offensive offense, none of it makes much difference. except for the all important run differential

Every team in MLB uses Driveline…

That does not prevent Yoshi from being a victim.

Why does Driveline's hitting tactics work for some but not Sox?

But they did score more than one run and I'm very proud of them.

They sure try hard and darn, people like them

My opinion  is that Contreras as a hitter only looks good  in comparison  to the other dogs around him

Or perhaps the plethora of weak batters in this poor excuse of a line-up puts additional pressure on his at bats.

I like the word plethora.

Don't forget Tolle, the guy with the error on a popup he had no business going after,   Then he failed to cover first base in time on an easy grounder to the right.

Sox were actually lucky it was such a close game, what with the bonehead plays by Gasper and Tolle.  Rays had 12 hits but just 4 runs.  Big play by Durbin at 3d base.   Also nice assist by Rafaela.

I think he has ZERO protection in the lineup. Dude has been mashing, but why give him anything to hit with the rest of this Absolute ass roster. Beta Breslow needs to be canned.  We need two more bats….. go get them. There are no solid bats in FA. Need to get via trade.

Tracy finally said the magic Cora words, "We just have to be better"

He is looking fried now knowing he is on the street this October

Will this team be the worst in Sox history? I don’t see them winning 60 games and my memory doesn’t help much but this is for sure the worst offense I’ve ever seen.

Because Boston keeps emphasizing a “one side fits all” approach to hitting rather than letting hitters do what got them to MLB in the first place…
