The difference between the best teams in MLB and the worst is one win every 5 games.  Tear downs and rebuilds rarely work, and KC might find it easier to keep the stars they do have and add on.  Most times when young star players are dealt, it’s not to kick start a rebuild so much as to save money.  KC already has their commitment from him.

In 5 years, his player options kick in.  Maybe they move him in 3 to 4 years…
