Just because we pay Yoshida $18M, why play him?

Just because we will pay Hicks $24M over next two years, why do we pitch him when he is struggling right now?

Why don't we play to win.

Cora overthought this game. A bullpen game requires every pitcher to pitch well. We found out today what many suspected. Maybe we're solid 7-9, but we can't string together 7 relievers.

Leading MLB in both errors and injuries the Sox are bucking the odds being in PO contention.

This team should make the playoffs over the Yankees or any other team but unfortunately picked a bad time to have injuries.

We need a fifth starter. Quit pussyfooting around. Should have brought up Harrison. Isn't it better to know about Harrison on 9/3 than waiting another 5 days? STUPID, STUPID, STUPID.

Your Ivy League analytics were worthless on this issue.

Lousy score, 8-1, against a lefty starter against whom the Sox had plenty of righty bats. Can't blame that on the absence of Anthony and Abreu.

I would say the bullpen stunk, but only for the first 2 innings. After Bernardino, Hicks especially, and Matz stunk it up, Kelly and May combined for 7 IP and 1 ER.  Kelly pitched well.  May was lucky as the dickens.

Up ahead, 6 road games at Arizona and Oakland.  I think the Sox need to take at least 4 of the 6, but could not be more worried about both the hitting and the pitching.  Cleveland, ranked near the bottom of MLB in both team OPS and runs scored 19 runs in 3 games, including 7 against our ace, Crochet.

Meanwhile, 3 of our best hitters--Bregman, Anthony, and Abreu--are either MIA or on the casualty list.

Just got home and can’t believe Jordan Hicks got rocked again. He’s usually so damn good and reliable!

Opponents have batted .321 against him l;(Jordan Hicks). He’s given up 20 runs (17 earned runs), 25 hits and 12 walks while striking out 15 in 18 ⅔ innings.

What's there to analyze?

There are reports of a possible ankle injury and an MRI today.  If true, maybe not so stupid?

You know, there is the possibility that the Sox brass has a little more knowledge on player availability than we do.

Those pitching analytics don't come from the freaking Ivy League.  They come from graduating from Yale with a degree in molecular biophysics and biochemistry, which demonstrated a pretty good brain, and then learning the MLB pitching trade first hand for 10 years, followed by an "executive apprenticeship" with the Cubs for 5 years.

You want a 5th starter?  The Sox have already been through eight (8):  Houck, Dobbins, Fitts, Criswell, Crawford (who never started but started 33 freaking games last year), Buehler, Newcomb, and May.   That leaves the current rotation of Crochet, Bello, Giolito, Tolle, and possibly May or a bullpen game like tonight,

Maybe Harrison can help, but whatever is done I trust the combined judgments of Cora and Breslow and not yours.

He’s should only be used in spots where you would use a position player.

if Hicks is on the PS roster I won't be watching. I said from the day of the trade he stinks after watching him pitch for the Jays last year. It is painfully obvious that the Devers trade was NOTHING MORE thaN DUMPING A BAD ATTITUDE AND PAYROLL SAVINGS.  Sox are desperate for a 5th SP even after calling up Tolle yet Harrison is not even a Sept 1 call-up. Pretty much says it all.

and likely they found out Harrison is not as good as they thought he was.

why these idiots took him in the Devers trade. i get they were ready to dump Devers and his salary but iin return, they took on this loser and his stupid salary. Hicks would have been DFA'd already if he weren't making $12.5M/ year. the entire trade was just f***ing stupid.

Well, I couldn't done any worse today.........AND YOU ARE ASININE TO THINK I WOULD EVER BE 1% OF BRES AND CORA.

THIS IS A FAN BOARD. YOU SHOULD KEEP THAT IN MIND. IT'S A PLACE TO BLOW OFF. DIDN'T I ASK YOU TO PUT ME ON IGNORE?

You know, sometimes these games can really be frustrating. I'm just glad they brought in Hicks so early on that I knew I could turn the game off and find something else to do with my evening. Thank you, Cora! #blessed

This team will be looking at that second wildcard. Yankees just more consistent despite us owning them this season.

The Yanks have turned it around, after a long 57 game stretch of bad play.  (25-32)

It was nice seeing DWilliams blow another game, last night. The Yanks had won 8 out of 9 and 15 out of 20, beforehand.
