Not bad for a insubordinate, bad diva teammate.🤫

Verdugo was insuborinate, repeatedly.  Devers is just defending himself from the big moves Breslow wants to make. Not--I repeat, absolutely not--to replace Casas at 1b because anyone could do that.  He was having a lousy season.  Breslow wants Devers on 1b so that Yoshida can DH, but he won't admit it.

Also, do I need to remind you that for 8 years straight it was  open season for castigating Devers for his no good, low down, rotten defense?   Now, suddenly, he is expected to play a nifty 1b.    Maybe he could, but we don't know that.

Meanwhile, he is flourishing as the DH, is the only Sox player who has played all 47 games, is tied for the team lead in rbi's with 37, has the 2d highest OPS, and has the 2d most total bases on the team.  Plus he is a lot less likely to get injured as a DH and as a result will play more games (160?) and wreak havoc with his bat.  Why mess with success?

I’m not as convinced of Breslow’s dedication to Yoshida as you clearly are.  But there’s nothing wrong with trying to get your best lineup together.

If Aaron Judge can move to CF to get Alex Verdugo into the lineup I see nothing wrong with Devers moving to accommodate Yoshida, especially since, unlike Judge’s move, this one is covering for an injury.  No one would be asking Devers to move again if Casas didn’t get hurt…

Yeah, they made a huge mistake not sitting him down to teach him a lesson, as many here suggested.

First career walk off for Devers!! I'm really liking the one/two punch Duran and Raffy have....somewhat developed. Always room for improvement.

And not be forgotten in Devers' first full season in 2018: his game-winning pinch-hit single in the 9th inning of World Series Game Five in LA...

Cora was a genius back then when all his pinch-hitters came through, but now that guys aren't delivering so much, he's a pleb like the rest of us.

Yeah, but why stop there just DFA him, and really show him who’s boss.🤭

I don’t think Brez wants to move Devers to 1B to get Masa into the lineup. Masa is out in exile, and as far as I know hasn’t even been the DH anywhere.

It would make sense if he wanted to get Yoshida into the lineup over Abraham Toro.  I can support that.  And outside of Abraham Toro himself, who wouldn’t?

What doesn’t make sense is it appears that Masa isn’t DH anywhere.

Yep.  Supposedly Cora wants him to throw, but how far down is he in the OF depth charts anyway?

That tracks.

I also would have accepted “a million miles away”…

Great song by Rory Gallagher.

So far this season Wong has 0 passed balls.  It's also pretty obvious that Narvaez is our best catcher (who also can hit).

It's still early, but that Narvaez trade looks like a steal. There were big worries about his offense, despite showing some power and OBP skills in the minors, but so far is offense has been pretty decent, especially for a catcher. His defense looks A1 (not AI, LOL.) He could probably hit .675 and still be a plus over Wong. I could see Wong being traded, this winter.

I would guess Yoshida is far away from any thoughts Breslow has around the roster construction at MLB level.

If they were able to slide Yoshida into the DH slot tomorrow he'd be on a rehab assignment.  Dude still can't throw and has a bum shoulder.

He's behind Mayer and Anthony in Breslow's thinking I would very much imagine.

What exactly did Breslow say to “paint Devers as an unworthy teammate”?  Are you sure you’re not embellishing this a bit?
