Bullpen losing this game to a little league team!

They’ve got some nice young players, Even as bad as they were last year, they still won 1 out of 4 games.

I mean Wilson still sucks. He had a near 6 ERA last season and is 37. That was best option to bring in?

As bad as Wilson is, he’s probably better than Kelly.

You can certainly debate Venables decision to bunt with the bases loaded and no outs, as Merloni is pounding, but it looks like to me he got a run home, no DP, no K, and wound up with men on 2nd/3rd and 1 out, both of whom scored vs a drawn in infield . It was a clean hit in any case.

It certainly worked out best for WS, and I'm not sold it was a bad tactic in any case. Especially for a weak hitting team.   Red Sox take note.

Right now this team is not consistent enough. Look at the Yankees. They just keep winning games. A team missing their best pitcher as well.

I can’t believe these late 30s relief pitchers that no one wanted are struggling. Justin Wilson and Liam Hendriks seemed like locks to be good signings

Not knowing the state of arms today makes that a tough question to answer.  Can’t use Whitlock, Slaten and Chapman every game.

I more meant that I didn’t understand the signing. I was pretty vocal against signing Wilson. He sucks

Having Houck start the 7th today or Crochet start the 7th yesterday both also could’ve helped the pen.

Realistically, this game is again on the offense.  Two errors in the first followed by a wind blown homer by Abreu are 3 of the 4 runs.  After that, 1 run in the 2nd and not a whole lot of chances since.

Crochet was on 96 pitches yesterday. Sitting him was the sensible thing to do.

Sabol, AAA catcher making $ 3,700 per game in Boston, swings at ball 4 when the Sox desperately need another base runner.

Just another contribution, Blake, to your IRA

Wilson has been one of the better pen arms TBH. You need to look at his Savant page.

I don’t trust him long term though, do you? SSS works both ways.

May as well get all the crap out of your BP and let this game go. Win tomorrow and brag about how you took 3 of 4.

Why give Bregman the error when Space Cadet should have picked that  bounce and stopped the inning.

Triston SCOOPS Casas

He needs to come up with that, but Sox infielders need to make batter throws.  He’s pulled a couple others out of the dirt today alone.

Houck’s pitching is a problem.

He actually started to look okay, but this is a weak team, so we can't know if he's begun to turn things around.

The pen has been pretty good, until recently. On paper, they did not look good to me on day one. There is a lot of mediocre depth, but we needed top quality.

Sox have no catching depth.

Sure; but the Giants, who are very good at evaluating catcher talent liked him. I just don’t see anything about him that’s positive.

Agrees. Casas isn’t good defensively but I feel like bad throws being scooped shouldn’t be taken for granted

Maybe Grandal will give us a boost, but I agree.

Most 1Bman scoop way more than Casas does, and they save errors by their infielders.

Sox in a hurry to get back in the Clubhouse for the Easter buffet.

Fitting that Cam Booser shuts them down in the 9th  .

moon i still feel this team should be better than what their record has been to this point. I thought their starting pitching would be very good.
