What did the reporter say was the source for this?

I haven't found a source for this yet either.

Quite the leading question!

Is being "the privileged product of an elite private high school" a good thing or a bad thing?

Depends on your perspective.😉

Is he actually saying "I'm not talking to reporters anymore" or are you all just getting upset for no reason again?

I'm not upset, just bored with the media doing it's job, as usual, to contrive news -- especially out of the mouths of young men who play a game for a living.

Not upset with Raffy or Triston or Alex B or Alex C or even Alex S (who, of all the beat reporters seems more concerned with what's happening on the field -- not off).

As for the talk show boasts of Felger and Mazz and Beetle, I get that they get paid to be bigger mouths than the ones they quote for clicks or calls, but that doesn't make them any less detestable. There are enough lowlifes in the world that justify depravity by "doing my job."

The reporter just asked Casas for an interview, and Casas said he wasn’t doing interviews.

Unfortunately for you you’re not to find anything in print. I heard it right from the reporter’s mouth. Once again watching, and listening you get so much more info than trying to look it up, or hearing it from second, or third hand. Maybe other reporters had better luck I don’t know. I was just reporting what this reporter said.

Which reporter?

Most reporters do have an online presence and post these interactions for non-listening audiences.

Go back, and listen to Cora’s interview, and you would know what was going on, and you wouldn’t have to ask all the questions.

240 lbs is 30 lbs more than he should be carrying.

He was 235 last season. Was it a problem last spring?

No, but I don’t see Raffy aging well weight wise, or healthy wise. 235/240 could be handled better at 25 than once he turns 30, and that’s if if stays at 235/240.

Bregman will have a talk with him in Spanish. he'll be down to 225 in no time.

That's why we all see him moving to 1B/DH at some point.

The thing with Devers is when he was signed, he was already a bad defender and a little pudgy. You’d like to hope he’d get in a little better shape but I think it was kind of known going into that deal he was getting signed for his bat and eventually would need to switch positions or just become a DH.

Seems that the only one who didn't get that memo was devers himself.

I agree, but Raffy IMO didn’t expect this to happen at age 28. Raffy sees himself as a good 3B, which complicates how he sees things.

While I agree the choice is obvious, it's another thing to get devers to agree to it.

Indeed, but he doesn't really have to agree. He is not the manager.

He just has to not pout or let his feelings interfere with his hitting and contributions to the team, as a DH or possibly 1Bman and back-up 3Bman.

Well, I guess we will all find out soon enough.

I won't be at all surprised, if he ends up DH'ing 140 games without a peep.

Based on what?

Based on my opinion.

I also won't be surprised, if he grumbles, some.

The guy thinks he's a good defensive 3Bman. He takes pride in what he does.

He also seems to really enjoy the game. He smiles, a lot. To me, he seems like an easy-going kind of guy, who will accept what Cora tells him to do. He may not like it, but I think he will not make a big stink about it.

I could be wrong. It would not be the first time.

So based on nothing.

I based it on my opinion that Devers seems easy-going and is not a hot head.

Tell me what you think and what your opinion is based on.

The only peeps are from the peeps with the microphones and notebooks. Raffy didn't go to them and call for a press conference. He just answered questions, just like Casas did.

Devers doesn't stay up all night tweeting unhinged outrage in uppercase butchery of his own language. He's not going to demand a trade, or hold out until they send him to a new team.

Because even if it's actually mentioned, Rafael Devers isn't going to turn down $30 million dollars to hit a baseball.

I never stated my opinion,

But given his recent statements where he was pretty adamant about staying at third, it doesn't sound to me like he would go quietly into the night.

That doesn't mean he's going to be happy about it.

That’s on him then. Hes done nothing at all to improve his defensive abilities or show up in better shape.

When the Sox signed Story, Xander was considered an average to below average defender. He wanted to keep the SS job so he came out in 2022 and had the best defensive season of his career.
