Who knows what Cora was offered before, and that was before Breslow was hired, so that offer might still not be there, or be what it was.

What you would drool over, and what Cora would drool over are most likely two entirely different things. From the way Cora talked at the end of this past season when he said it doesn’t matter what you’re farm ranking is, but but what you do, or don’t do in October is what’s most important. In other words the here, and now is most important, and has been the last two years, so I don’t think Cora is drooling over what, or what might not happen down the road. You’d be drooling if things looked good in 2030.🤭🙈.

Once again, a totally wrong take on my position and feelings.

Weren’t you the one that said Cora was the one pulling the strings?

I never said Cora would be drooling.

Cora pulled the strings at the end of last season, and held the door open for Bloom when he left.

But not the Brez move?

Nobody knows what Cora was offered for a role in the FO, but either way I don’t think Cora is, or will be anytime soon. Brez in place now may have changed that.

Nobody said you did. The point being just, because you would be drooling wouldn’t mean by a long shot that Cora would too over the same prospect of prospects. Cora wants, and has wanted to win now.

Again, you did not answer.

Did Cora pull tge strings on the Brez hire?

Yes I know.

I did not mean to imply Cora was drooling over prospects a year or two away. I do think he is aware of them and is likely encouraged by their promise.

Enough to put up with this crap another year or two? That is hard to know.

I have no idea. Brez might have been way down on the list if not so many had said no to even an interview.

Cora has been fed up for two years now, so I don’t think it is hard to know that he wouldn’t put up with another two especially after supposedly going full throttle this year after two losing last place finishes.

Monty was not my first choice, but if we can get him plus Imanaga or Stroman, I’ll have a sliver of hope for 2024.

Hell, if they do that we'll all feel a lot better. That might be a team worth watching, plus it'd show they're still committed to trying.

I must have misunderstood your position back then.

My bad.

They basically have to nail Monty or Snell plus Imanaga or Stroman to even give a semblance of trying.

Certainly, “full throttle” was a sham.

James Paxton to the rescue

Even Stroman, Imanaga and Paxton would be a sham.

Teoscar & Paxton is a kick in the nuts.

Just today this poster thought Seattle should pursue James Paxton if the Mariners trade a starter for an impact bat.

He's not bad.

A better gamble than Severino or Montas, I guess.

As depth, okay, but this is not about that, I fear.

We can only hope if Paxton returns and wins another Pitcher of the Month award next spring, that Breslow won't trade him at the deadline -- especially if the Sox are the fifth-best team in the AL East for the fourth time in half a decade.

And I honestly wouldn't be shocked if someone outbids us for Paxton.

Maybe Campbell, Slaten and Mata.

There you go. The Sox front office is using the Law of Diminishing Expectations on their fans, and it's working. We saw it last year when we were actually pleased with the Kluber signing...

To be fair, Kluber wasn’t so bad in 2022…
