My point is you started giving your opinion but saying it wasn’t yours, but everyone else’s…

If I say the Nation it’s usually mine also, and if it was different I would certainly say so.

My point exactly. That it’s your opinion but you are afraid to just say that…

I am afraid to voice my opinion on here? Really? Really? Really? That’s one of the most ridiculous things I’ve heard on here.

Teasing, or Pleasing?

15 games left, but things are tightening.

3 games from 500

4 games from getting out of last place in the Div.

1 easy game left before back to playing the bullies from the Div.

Bloom did, in fact , trade Mookie Betts. That is the truth. It was one of his first moves. Everything else about it is just speculation.

So you’re saying that there’s a chance that Dombrowski really did sign Betts and then didn’t turn around and spend all the money earmarked for Betts on Bogaerts and Sale?

Well that changes everything

Yep, anyone who blames the GM/HOBO for everything has to blame DD for failing to retain Betts in two separate reported extension negotiations.

So even when Bloom does bring guys back he gets knocked. Kind of says it all.

He needs to sign guys, but not like that. The grass over there looks greener right now. If it turns brown next summer, we can just blame him then too.

You don’t think they could of done better with $10M? Would you give JD, and Evol a raise after this year?

Was Kiké overpaid or underpaid for 2021?

Posted
I think it’s pretty unlikely they do better than Kike for a one year deal. He’s still one of the best defensive centerfielders in the game and shouldn’t be judged solely by batting average…

And the FA market really sucks this offseason.

Posted
Kike is a good CF, but if you think they’re aren’t better players out there for $10M I think you’re wrong.

Who is getting 10M or less this offseason?

Posted
Chris Taylor was a versatile 31-year-old coming off a 3.1 fWAR season when the 2021 All Star landed the four-year, $60 million contract. At that point Taylor had posted 15.5 fWAR in 743 career games.

Kiki Hernandez is a versatile 31-year-old who has posted 0.4 fWAR so far this season while landing the one-year, $10 million contract for 2023. Hernandez has posted 12.3 fWAR in 902 career games.

Kiké was injured for most of the season but had a 4.1 fWAR last year.

You know it's the easiest thing in the world to drop the name of someone who will get $15-$20 per year and say they'd take less somehow.

I would answer that, but I’m afraid to voice my opinion.

It may seem hard to get a post through on this forum, with members always positioned to toggle statistical sites to stifle any interpretation of opinionated facts or fact-based opinions.

But beginning next season, some big league boards will ban all present progressive conjugated verbs. There will be no response clock, but analytical members will be required to keep one foot on either fangraphs or baseball-reference before leaping to prove that a poster's personal thoughts are wrong. Apple may also be supplying bigger keyboards to generate more offenses.

You know this how?

It's widely reported the Sox made Bogey an offer to extend his remaining $60M/3 into $90M/4, long before Kike took this $10M/1 deal. Bogey was "likely" the first to receive an offer, and that's why I said "likely" and not "certainly."

When someone says the word "likely," they are saying they don't "know" for sure.

You are really going to count that as a contract offer that you have trashed yourself?

That’s why Bloom had the foresight to make the JBJ trade knowing he’d have him for 2 years. Whoops didn’t quite work out.

Posted
The answer is likely no.

Imagine that in all of baseball there is no one out there that the Red Sox could have gotten for $10M, or less that would be better than Kike.Wow!

Yes, that trade sucked. I've said as much. I didn't like the trade when it happened.

Kike sucked from day 1 this year, and before, and after he was injured. Jd was pretty good last year too, but not so much this year.

I just asked a question if Kiké was underpaid or overpaid in 2019 and didn't get a response. I'm not sure what fangraphs or bref had to do with it?

Which OFer that is a FA this offseason would you sign instead of Kiké for less than 10M?

Why you only limiting it to FA OF? I said all of baseball.

No Kike was not overpaid last ear, but was he overpaid this year? I’m not against bringing Kike back, but I think $10M is to much money when there will be lots of holes to plug with the money they have to spend, and lord forbid we don’t want JH to pay anymore of that dreaded tax.

Kike's defense never sucks. His offensive numbers are substandard, but he does have 40 RBI in 79 games, and we all know he can get hot any time.

Not sure why you have it in for this guy.

Kiké has a 107 wRC+ since coming back from the IL in August.

260 BA

730 OPS

Extrapolated over a full season that'd be 11 HR, 85 RBI, 85 R for you old school guys.
