I would be all for Theo if he was interested.

I think it would be a tough sell. Epstein would probably ask for more than Henry.would be prepared to give.

Well, bellhop, your master does account for about half of the posts in here, so......

That doesn't account for you mentioning him in half of yours. Nice try though.

Umm, well, when he takes up roughly half the content on this site it certainly does.

But, again, why do you constantly need to defend your master?

Who do you like?

I’m fine with most anyone but CHB and Tomase.

Merloni is a try hard attention seaker, but he’s not sewer scum like the above two.

Mazz is good when not attached at the hip to Felger, like when he had his own baseball show.

Shaughnessey is one the best baseball writers in the country regardless of what you think.

I suspect that his article reflects the perspective of a growing number of anti Bloomers within the Red Sox organization.

No, he’s definitely not.

You guys better be prepared to wait, because there's about a 1% chance Bloom gets fired before next year.

I agree, but if Bloom doesn’t turn things around in a hurry we’ll see how long Henry’s rabbit ears hold out.

Theo was the best GM the Sox ever had. A shame he had to feed the monster and sign CC and trade for AGon. Really f***ed it up there.

He’s on the Ben Cherington timetable.

Time is a flat circle.

By character, it’s more than half.

Merloni is all right, and Mazz is like night with Felger, and day with OB. Gasper I think is pretty good.

Not his best moves for sure, and SS seemed to be a problem area too.

A lot of people liked to point to that, but to me his movement at shortstop was probably a good thing. A bad thing would have been sticking with a veteran who was clearly uncomfortable with the team/position/contract/whatever. Recognizing that something wasn’t working and moving on is a good thing…

Um, again, why do you keep attacking him? If you stop, I'll stop. Simple solution. All up to you.

Signing Renteria, and Lugo were not good signings.

Not to mention Jason Heyward with the Cubs.

Every HOBO has moves that don't work.

Theo was very open about it. I think he once said if you hit on more than half of your free agent signings you're doing well.

He’s only here to start fights with you two though?

He's had fights with others as well. On most boards he'd be long gone and hard to find.

The Mods here are kind of like a pro wrestling referee. They want to do right, but sometimes they get distracted. Then the heels get to do their dirty deeds. I do kind of miss Swihart's Ghost though. I thought he was just having a little fun. Not a good idea to drink and post though.

I agree. I think mvp summed up Swihart's Ghost perfectly. He might be ill, but he doesn't have ill intent.

Bud Selig is in the HOF. Enough said.

Non sequitur! Shaughnessy was recognized by his peers being given the highest award for baseball writing. By definition that makes him one of America's premier baseball writers. That fact that you do not care for him obviously carries no weight with anyone in the baseball writers community.

Shaughnessy is a talented writer, but he also has a lot of unsavory traits. I can't help thinking of what I read about this "Colonel" guy of olden times who had a personal vendetta against Ted Williams. Ted called guys like that Knights of the Keyboard, and I think that probably fits Shaughnessy at times. He had a vendetta against Schilling and now he has one against Papi.

The fact that BBWA guys like someone has no weight on whether or not living humans should care about CHB.

They’d rather see a plaque of CHB than Bonds or Clemens. Some leave Pedro, Cal Ripken, George Brett off their first ballot. Laughable.

Posted

What's so hypocritical about that is that Shaughnessy will absolutely crucify players who don't come through in the clutch. He called Adrian Gonzalez The Cooler.

And then you have guys like Schilling and Papi who came through for the Red Sox like few have. And these are the guys he gets in feuds with? So they have to be clutch and perfect human beings too?

Umm, again, why do you feel the need to be your master's defender? I find it weird that a grown man feels the need to constantly defend another grown man. I guess that's just part of your special relationship.

And I could really care less if you choose to stop or not.

He posts so much crap on here and I, among others, point it out.

But you, being the hypocrite that you are, only single me out.

And neither lasted very long.

They did win a WS with Lugo, and won 95 games with Renteria, but both struggled defensively.

I think Alex Gonzalez was his best SS free agent and the Sox were a bit quick to replace him…
