Sure.

I'm not so sure. Maybe if Wacha and Hill remain out for longer than expected.

Pivetta seems to be turning things around.

I guess, maybe if he costs nothing, he might be the 5th starter until and if Paxton or Sale ever return, this season.

Make Houck and Whitlock the 1-3 inning closers.

Would he be given a starting slot, here?

Sure... he wouldn't be bitter at the media nor the organization at all, especially with so many potential disrespected free agents roaming the clubhouse on a last place team.

But hey, we need more placeholders on the roster!

If they eat that whole contract, sure. They can have Kutter for him.

Including taking back what the Sox owe him?

We gave them Betts to cancel out just half of Price's deal, we should get something thrown in, too.

Maybe Hill should be allowed to pitch a 5th inning once in a while…

Barnes for Price? Straight up. No money…

I wouldn't take Price back if the Dodgers agreed to take Story and his entire contract.

you guys are going to need story when xbo departs

This might actually work. With the 2024 buy-out, Barnes is owed slightly more than the Dodger portion of Price's deal. He does have 2 years to get his act straightened out, but the Dodgers would probably do this.

The only gain we get is budget relief in 2023.

The word on the street is that the Dodgers are trying to trade David Price so he can be a starter. Who would take the bite out of that apple?
On what street did you hear this?

@PeteAbe

Whitlock is being pushed back to Monday. Pivetta starts Friday. TBA for Saturday and Sunday. They’re hoping Rich Hill takes one. Cora suggested a bullpen game for the other. But have to think Seabold or Winckowski are possibilities.

I'd love to see the sox cobble together a bullpen game.....

It would work great, if we score 10 runs or more.

Have the sox reached double digits in runs scored in any game so far this year?

No.

9 twice

8 once

(The Yanks did 4 times in a 5 game stretch, but that's it.)

I think I’d get excited on some level if we could just score in 3 separate innings…

One of the advantages of having the lowest ERA in the league along with the fewest errors in the AL is that you don't need to score as many runs.

Not allowed this season, sorry.

Worcester Red Sox 5, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (NYY) 2

After turning 23 on Tuesday, Brayan Bello celebrated by impressing in his Triple-A debut. Over six innings of work, the right-hander allowed just two runs on six hits and one walk to go along with 10 strikeouts on 94 pitches (64 strikes). Out of the Worcester bullpen, Eduard Bazardo, Phillips Valdez, Zack Kelly, and Kaleb Ort combined for three scoreless frames. Ort earned his fifth save of the season.

Six innings, one walk.....I wouldn't be surprised to see him 'arrive' sometime in 2023.

I'd have him in the Opening Day rotation.
