This year I was blessed to attend three college baseball games before the COVID-19 shutdown. I can't remember the scores, much less other stats, and cannot name any of the players.

It was just baseball for the fun of it.

Good deal! I'm glad you were able to get a few games in before the shutdown. When we go to the Tides games here, it's the same thing. We don't know many players and we don't really have a vested interest in either team unless they're playing the Pawsox, but we have a good time nonetheless.

^^ This is what ticks me off about all the players (especially CC) and fans from the other teams crying that they are victims. I have never doubted that the Yankees were one of the biggest culprits, but somehow went unpunished.

Jacko: "Deny, deny, deny! Nothing to see here"

I supposed we should wait until the letter is unsealed before making any judgments about this, but in the meantime, I am very much enjoying the tweets by the Astros players and my man Jared Carrabis.

Another thing to add here is the Yanks and Sox were the FIRST ones to be caught and it was before the playoffs. After their back and forth, EVERY TEAM was warned. Those that continued we punished severely.

Would like to see the letter for sure.

Even more amusing will be NY's efforts to keep it sealed. Why bother? I think most fans are not shocked--of COURSE teams tried to steal signs. They always have. And of course they all KNOW other teams are doing it (wasn't this the period when the Yankee catcher-- was it Russell?-- essentially was going to the mound every other pitch to change sign sequence? Just before MLB stupidly put in the rule preventing it and thus opening the floodgates on ... SHOCK SHOCK SCANDAL ... cheating?

Well reportedly there will not be any repercussions to the Yankees for whatever is contained in that letter, because it occurred on or before 2017. But regardless, two points about that:

1. Do you really think that the Yankees were not stealing signs in 2018 or 2019? Please.

2. The hypocrisy is what's so punitive here, both to the Yankees and to Manfred.

Why are the Yankees and Manfred fighting so hard to keep the letter sealed? Because it will damage some reputations. Duh. If there were nothing to see here, then you would assume that they'd want the letter to be public to clear their names.

I do not believe they were stealing signs beyond their warning in 2017, at least not using electronic means

smoke

Smoke?

The smoke was the sudden surge to All Star caliber player from a slew of players who couldn’t cut it with other teams.

This might be the actual fire...

Because of the respect I have gained for you during the last few months, I will only say now that I am truly envious of your innocent naivete, whether real or feigned!

I would love to get back to the days of a Yankee loving troll! Lol.

The letter from 2017 proves what we already know. The Yanks cheated by electronic means in 2017. The Sox did too. They both were caught and fined. They then both were made an example of. The league used their example to warn the rest of the league. The slate was wiped clean. The Astros kept doing it. The Sox did it in 2018. If the Yanks did it after being caught, they’ve done a REALLY good job of hiding it

Many people assumed it was PEDs. Now we learn otherwise. Or maybe it was both PEDs and sign stealing?

I wouldn't put it past the Yankees.

I am wondering why the Yankees and Manfred are so adamant about keeping the letter sealed. If it just shows what we already know, why not just unseal it and move on. There is a clear double standard going on here.

And yes, the Yankees were still doing it in 2018 and 2019. No doubt whatsoever.

Have you seen the letter? Unclear how you already know this.
