This was the best post season outing by Kimbrel, and it was the only time that he did not get a Save.

Let's hope that's not why he did so well.

Who was the clown who said we may have to platoon with Beni this year, if he couldn't improve?

(Ooops!)

Is it too late in the year to lead-off w/ Beni & move Betts down? Haha, I’m half kidding

Cora is a f***ing genius...But to anyone who thinks he can't in-game manage, he tooled Roberts...bottom line

He's "tooled" a lot of managers, and not just with hindsight views.

He's the best Sox manager I've ever seen.

(I was not a Sox fan for the Dick Williams era.)

Baez cruising after 2 dominating Ks....no reason to pull him.

Brasier not cruising, shaky, but Cora keeps faith and has him pitch to Machado...fly out, no real damage, one run. Then he pulls him and gets Eduardo on lefty-lefty. Cora manages 1 inning for his pitchers (cept for Eduardo his specialist), Roberts managed for matchups. Big difference. And Nunez batting for Devers could have been considered a mistake but Cora just seems to manage better than everyone else

I really like seeing JD 4th not 3rd.

One thing we need to see is Xander getting back to being aggressive on first pitches...he is taking way too many groove fastballs on first pitches, then swings at breaking balls or high fastballs later in count.

That was my thought too! They took out Baez I thought they were crazy to do that. He was mowing us down.

Yeah he’s watching the good pitches middle-middle go by

Cora is always 1 or 2 moves ahead against his rival. Crazy.

Yes it was! They said Kimbrel was tipping his pitches and they worked on it before game 5 of the Astros series. He looked completely different tonight. Nobody can say it was because we had a lead either. He had a 3-4 run lead in a couple games this playoffs and didn’t pitch well. Hopefully this is the Kimbrel we get the rest of the series!

Has any player not contributed in a meaningful way these playoffs?

Swihart ? Not been asked to do much and has responded well

Cora has outmanuevered all managers in this postseason. The crucial call in this one was the Nunez for Devers P.H. Roberts had to see that one coming. Baez has been absolutely lights out this post season. He’s a reliever. Men are on base. Removing him for a starter with guys on was bad enough, but knowing you weren’t going to see the platoon advantage because Cora was clearly going to put in a R.H. hitter was egregious. Now Wood is no slouch, but he’s a good NL back of the rotation starter. That’d be like us pulling Betances for CC against Devers, with 2 guys on, knowing it’s be Nunez. Go with the guys that got you there Dave.

The Sox offense woke up in NY and hasn’t been suppressed since. I’ve called Sox in 6 from the beginning. I believe I called a split of the first two. That doesn’t change tonight, where I don’t expect Mr Tingles to do well. That being said, the Cali starters will be pitching in the same awful elements. The Sox are undefeated on the road this post season, which boggles the mind.

Swihart delivered when it counted...pouring champagne in the locker-room celebrating...execution on that was off the charts good.

Swihart’s roster spot allows for Cora to aggressively switch between his two lead catchers at a moments notice without burning his emergency catcher. Swihart will see no playing time outside of a laugher

Thanks. This is now a guarantee lock that we win tonight.

Your predictions have a worse record than the orioles.

I've stopped 2nd guessing Cora. He's proven to me that being lucky is better than being good.

SPLINTER remains a non-believer in Cora.

You called for a split, yes, but here's how you called for the split to happen:

I think diminished Chris Sale loses the opener to Kershaw. The Sox get Ryu out early in game 2 and beat the Dodgers pen.

I haven't seen a caddy get so much forum time spent on him---Swihart---since Michel Bunny Laroque for the late 1970s Habs. Dryden played every game, Laroque would get a shot from the bench grinning and his name on the Cup a few too many times....f***ing Habs!!!!....Go Sox!!!!

I swear the web host deliberately waited until the game started to fix the server

Ha! f*** man. I reset my internet, reset my phone twice, was about to check wires, then I noticed it was just this site that was down. Lol
