  1. A team that’s massively underperformed all year.
  2. What JD Martinez is overrated? He’s been a great hitter his entire career and hits big under pressure. He’s not having his normal year this year but yet he’s still batting .297 25HR 65RBI. He’ll finish with 35HR and 90-100RBI’s. That’s the first time I’ve heard he’s overrated. Maybe he’s not as good this year but not overreacted.
  3. We just got our asses kicked by a little bit better than average team. We are SO inconsistent. One night JD goes off but nobody else. Then Bogaerts or Betts or Devers but none on the same night. Our pitching is pathetic. The fact that we didn’t make any moves is a friggin joke. Oh I’m sorry Cashner. SUCKS. He’s been absolutely terrible.
  4. I have to agree he’s been terrible unfortunately.
  5. Sell Sale massive contract with his great years behind him.
  6. Cora is going to be the only manager I’ve heard of to win the World Series and be kicked out of the city he won the World Series in the next year. I was never on board with get rid of Cora because were having a good year but I’m starting to get that way. All the moves that work last year are not working at all this year. I know it’s on the players but he’s made some really s***** moves. Or I should say none moves.
  7. Why the hell is it that Velasquez is still freaking pitching? I mean Cora has just sat there and left him out there after is giving up run after run after run giving us a slim to none of coming back. We should’ve already won this freaking game. This is why we’re only a few games over 500.
  8. What the hell is Cora doing? Velasquez has not gotten one out and yet the bases are still loaded and he stands there and stares at the guy instead of pulling him out. I guess we can afford to lose games.
  9. You have to get a pitcher that’s used to pitching in the ninth inning. It’s hard to throw a starter straight into the closer role. The closer has to be able to let a bad night go and be able to come back out the next night and shut it down. Starters have the mentality of five days between starts and nine innings or however long they last to redeem themselves from a bad inning. Also if Cora has to pick a guy for the ninth and stick with him. This way he’ll get used to the pressure. There’s plenty of teams that are not in contention that have decent closers that we can trade for instead of Eovaldi being thrown into the fire when he gets back. We’ve lost at least 5-6 games this year because of blown ninth innings.
  10. Barnes, Braiser, Hembree, Walden are not the closer solution. We need to go after a decent closer on a crappy team. Maybe Diaz on the Mets or Hand on the Guardians. Although I’m sure Hand would cost a lot in prospects. Not sure about Diaz.
  11. If his back is bothering him then he needs to sit for a couple more games. I know we need him but it’s better to have a good healthy JD than a injured average JD.
  12. You’re right he has been pretty bad compared to what he did last year. He went 0-8 the other night with I think 5 strikeouts. He’s not hitting with as much power and he’s not driving in the runs he was driving in last year. Same thing for Mookie. Although Mookie seems to be hitting better of late. Also Benny is not hitting for any power whatsoever. Bogaerts is having a decent season and so is Devers. If we can get JD, Betts, and Benny going well be a tough team to beat.
  13. I will have to agree with you on that one they do seem to be playing uninspired baseball. It’s like they’re saying we won the World Series last year and we will get going this year when we get going and if we don’t make the playoffs oh well we won the World Series last year. That crap does get old especially trying to watch it.
  14. We just won the WS last year. I know the team is definitely underperforming but a nice winning streak and we’re right back into the race. All we need to do is get into the playoffs. Also it’s the players that are underperforming. Benny, Betts, and JD are all underperforming in comparison to last year. I will say all the calls Cora made last year are not working as well this year. The biggest thing he needs to do in my opinion is name a closer and not do this closer by committee because whichever reliever he picks is thrown right into a high pressure situation. If you picks Brasier, Barnes, Hembree, or whoever. Just pick him and let him be the closer. He’ll get used to pitching in the ninth-inning instead of being thrown into that situation. That’s exactly what happened tonight with Brazier and he gave up the tying run and then eventually we lost.
  15. JD is huge but Mookie is more valuable altogether. He’s a way better fielder and just as good a hitter. Plus he steals bases. Also he’s young.
  16. We just can’t get it going this year. I expected a slow start but it’s past time to start playing good. I mean we can’t put together anything especially against good teams. We have the talent it’s just everyone except maybe Devers is underperforming. JD is hitting ok but not like last year at least not yet. Benny and Betts are struggling especially Benny. With the Rays and Yanks having the records they have we either need to go on a big run which is not something we can’t do or were looking at a wildcard spot. The BP needs to be added to IMO. Our lineup will come around and our starting pitching is pitching better but our BP just gives it up. All that said a good winning streak and we’re back in the conversation. So hopefully it starts now in this second game at home!
  17. Ya but you would expect Mookie with his talent to keep improving. His last 3 seasons were great. 2016 he hit .318 31HR 113RBI 26SB, 2017 .264 24HR 102RBI 26SB, and 2018 .346 32HR 80RBI 30SB. I agree with a good series and he’s right on pace with the last 3 years. I’d like to see him steal some more bases this year as well but it’s still early and I think a lot of our guys will get it going. Especially Benny!
  18. One thing Cora needs to do is pick a closer. This closer by committee ain’t working. A closer needs to get used to the pressure of pitching in the ninth inning. All the moves that worked for Cora last year are not this year. Like the other day after the collapse in the ninth with Braiser Cora stays with Weber when he’s giving it up from the first pitch. Like we have games to spare. Mookie has been average so far and JD isn’t driving runs in like he was last year. Our BP is just atrocious. That’s our achilles heal. So all we can do is hope somehow someway we turn it around because we can’t go get anyone with our highest payroll in the MLB.
  19. WM is good and I think he’s more consistent than Devers so far in their careers but who knows Devers could start crushing the ball and we’ll stop thinking of trading him.
  20. Pedroia is done in my opinion. Chavis needs to continue to play when they try to bring Pedroia and Nunez back.
  21. Mike Lowell is looking for a job!!!!!
  22. Anybody tell them the dam season started? Our do they still think it’s party time because they won the WS. I get it being a long season last year and winning the WS but it’s time to wake up and start playing this season. All our players hitting and pitching just stinks bad. Betts, Benny, Bogaerts, all stink at least JD is hitting for average. JBJ figures he had a great postseason so he can just cruise at .138. I knew Evovaldi wasn’t a good signing. He had a great postseason but he’s never been a good consistent regular season pitcher. Porcello and A-Rod are terrible and I won’t even get into the mess of a bullpen. If we don’t watch out we’ll windup staying in last place.
  23. I wish we would of made a run a Josh Donaldson. Don’t what his contract situation looks like but he would of been a good fit. The Braves aren’t letting him go. Plus he’s starting to hit the ball well. Beltre is just to old. I don’t think he’s even playing now.
  24. It should of been a sweep!
  25. I agree I thought the 2007 was the most dominant but then this team was just incredible. Can’t forget about the 2004 team who started it all!
