According to Jacko its only over for this year. Next year the Yankees will be much better because they are going to go out and buy some good players and for that reason they will bury us. He says that we should enjoy this year (which of course most of us are) because we will soon fall off a cliff.

Just think, the Yankees have Stanton locked in for $30 mil a year. That will cramp their style getting lots of new players. Stanton is not worth 1/2 of what Martinez is getting.

I really don't get why the Nationals' fire sale didn't include Harper.

 

Harper has an agent who doesn't believe in extensions without first trying free agency. And they already had his replacements, with Juan Soto lighting up MLB pitching his rookie year and Victor Robles right behind him. Dealing Harper could have given some valuable experience to Robles.

 

Also, they could have gotten back some potentially valuable pieces...

So far today, I have read that the Yankees are all in on Machado, Harper, and now Kershaw. Pretty soon they will be in on every free agent. lol

For the record, Kershaw would be the only one I would not want to see them able to sign.
