You don't have to quantify anything, but expect to be picked up on your posts and have discussion about them....seeing as it's... well... a discussion forum.

Make all the sweeping statements you want. All I did was ask who these people are as I haven't seen anyone fall into both the two groups you mentioned.

You aren't really interested in any kind of discussion with me and you know that. And seeing how you are right that it is a discussion forum I will continue to make all of the sweeping statements I wish to make. If you would like to discuss something that relates to baseball with me, I'm all for it.

While I shouldn’t be lumped in for complaining about all DD deals, although I have about a few (but not this one), this post absolutely HAS to be about me...

I don't really think that my post was intended to specifically point out anyone. That really isn't something I tend to do in general unless I am forced to do so. I think that actually some of the time notin you try to appreciate someone's elses point of view.

Per Dombrowski:

1. Johnson will make his next start tomorrow, then will go to the pen. Pom will remain in the rotation, for now.

What??? Sigh. Well, since I have little faith Pomeranz will be effective this year, I'm sure eventually the two will be swapped.

Also, I have a new avatar. I hope you all like it.

I can always appreciate someone else’s point of view. But I do and always will point out other possibilities, either observational or sabermetric or just flat out different. (It is funny how many do not appreciate alternative viewpoints.)

I think John Cleese said it best when he said “My nipples explode with delight!”...

Some of y'all will get into arguments over the silliest things, and then go to great lengths to keep those arguments going over multiple pages. But to each their own, I guess.

Please note this post was not directed at any person in particular... :P

We're 4-1 in Johnson's starts, and he has a 2.22 ERA as a starter.

We're 4-5 in Pom's starts (6.19 ERA)

You may be right, though I'm pulling hard for Pom.

(Johnson has struggled out of the pen, while Pom has a lot of past experience there. I wonder, if that counts for anything.)

I'm willing to have a conversation with you, or anyone else who is willing to have their posts argued against, or questioned. That's how discussion works. But sure, make all the sweeping statements you want. It's a free world.

Ted Williams was better at ballroom dancing than he was at playing baseball.

I actually have a pretty good idea how a discussion works Hitch. I'll keep making my sweeping statements and you keep making your little condescending ones.

I think that it is very odd how people don't appreciate different points of view and opinions.

I think it's very normal for people to not enjoy opposing viewpoints. It's just human nature.

My sweeping statement is that TS fights are no longer enjoyable to read. Double thumbs down on this one.

Johnson has earned a spot in the rotation; Pomeranz has not. Its as simple as that. I think its a dumb decision to award Pomeranz that spot. Put him in the pen and see if he can win back what he lost.

Pomeranz is scheduled to start against Philly on Tuesday at this point.

And maybe that will work out , although not an exciting proposition, as long as Cora is ready to pull him if the bleacher seat fans start noticing incoming or guys walking to first base. Cora , IMO, supports his guys taking the long view of the whole season and gives them plenty of chances to perform , some out of need and some to help develop them (Nunez-Devers). You can't say it has hurt anything with a notable lead over the Yankees and best record in MLB. But each game is one less to go and the need to keep winning day after day won't end until they clinch , then reprogram for playoffs which cannot be a 1 and done this year.

Now seriously Hitch i was just having some fun with you. I have been admonished for my efforts and with all due respect I will refrain form these silly types of things in the future.

Ha! Thanks.

Fyi, I sadly sold my mint condition Megatron about 10 years ago on eBay. Maybe a mistake but I needed the cash at the time.

Would it help if I made more references to “Prune Face” Henry more often and got mad at him for not spending his entire fortune on the Red Sox?

I totally agree with this. Don't know what it is about Pomeranz, maybe because Dombrowski traded for him, he is reluctant to give up on him. Johnson should stay in the rotation. Pomeranz has earned a bullpen demotion.

Same here. I wasn't looking for an argument with you. My first post was genuine, I hadn't seen any one poster that had slagged off DD for his lack of moves and then did the same for this move. No biggie.

I don't think it can hurt. No matter what, we all love nostalgia right?! :D

Also Pomeranz is struggling physically and been a good relief pitcher throughout his career. A move to the pen might not only benefit the Sox, but also Pomeranz.

That said, I don’t see the harm in giving him another chance at starting. ...

POM has pitched 343 innings in his last two full seasons. Prior to that he never pitched over 102 in a season. If POM fails in his next start, I believe DD should put him on the DL for the remainder of the season. Hopefully, he will be back at full strength in 2019. Edited by SPLENDIDSPLINTER

Was curious who, so looked it up, and I assume Denyi Reyes? Somehow I've overlooked him, he's putting up awesome numbers. Fourth straight good year in the minors, still only 21. Minor league totals 289.3 IP, 242 H, 27 BB, 260 K, 2.05 ERA, .930 WHIP, and just because it's so ridiculous 30-5 W-L. Scouts don't seem to like him much, but I'll take these guys all day long who actually perform, over guys who may perform eventually based on their physical attributes if they continue to develop. Yeah, still A ball, long ways to go, but that control is nuts and should carry through as he moves up. I should get out to Greenville and check him out before he moves up. Been a while since I've been to a Drive game.

DD Scorecard:

Price - terrible terrible terrible signing. should have signed Cueto like Slasher9 said to

Kimbrel - overpay. could have used some of those prospects in another deal.

Pom - horrible horrible horrible trade. a gold chip prospect for a Relief Pitcher that had only recently became a SP and he only has ever had 2 pitches. neither of which are ++. plus he was injured at the time of the trade and DD actually could have renegged on the trade and gotten Espy back (to use for a different trade).

Sale - 100% easiest trade a GM (or in this case President of Operations) has ever made. this was about as much of a "no- brainer' as there ever was. the only bummer is that it sure would have been nice to use Espinoza in this trade and have Moncada playing 2b for us right now.

Pearce - good sourcing

Eovaldi - could be a gem move. not psyched it cost us Beeks for a 2 month rental but if this year turns into a parade this move will have helped.

Many of us said the second DD was tied to Boston that our Farm was about to get annihilated/eviscerated. this has 100% happened. if it turns into a parade...worth it.

if it doesnt Ben>DD
