I feel like Verlander is this year's equivalent of Corey Kluber. Let's check in and see how Corey did: 5-3, 3.83 ERA, but only 80 innings pitched and 16 starts.

Hey all, my Astros-watching friend just threw in the towel: "Nah it's over. Once the Stros Lost McCullers, there workhorse and experience they were doomed. Injuries to Garcia also bad news. Baker not a fan of and he's never been good at managing a bullpen or lineup. Hopefully this is his last year in Houston and he retires lol. Altuve is now lost, errors killed us or this would have been a completely different series now. The Sox will be celebrating on Wed night. Congrats The Sox aren't even that great but they play well as a team. Other then Devers and Bogarts there's not one other player I would want on my fantasy team lol. Kike is playing out of his ass and he struggled for most of the year. Just got hot at the right time of the year and that's all it takes in the playoffs. Have to say never saw them even getting past the Yankess lol The network always wanted SOX and Dodgers in the world series for ratings... But the Braves may ruin that Wink"

My understanding is the velocity was quite good on that pitch. If you are beat for a grand slam on a good pitch above the strike zone, I think you tip your cap. That said, yeah he's probably missing the changeup to keep hitters guessing.

Oh I hadn't heard that line about "rediscovered his best stuff"; that's wonderful news. If Chris can be Chris Freakin' Sale, as Moon puts it, then our rotation looks tough to beat. Sale, then Eovaldi, then Rodriguez, then either Pivetta or Houck. Combine that with our surging offense and we might repeat the 4-1 result.

If this were a movie, there would be a montage of bullpen sessions, throwing at stop signs at night on the street, and having to disarm a robber with a well placed throw of a salt shaker, and then he'd be good to go.

As is, I think we have a chance. If Sale suddenly becomes dominant, I think we move to favorites.

Honestly not thinking about next year at all, but there's too many variables to consider at this point if I were. Do they resign E-Rod and Schwarber? Does Chris Sale regain his command? Do any of our hitters exercise their opt-outs? Do we make a big free agent splash, like a closer? Do we retain Iglesias somehow (always liked him)?

I'm very curious to see what our starting rotation will be. How do you not start Chris Sale? Yet, without his changeup, he's not effective. Hopefully he rediscovers it soon. They do have some time off this week for him to work hard at it. Lineup looks locked in.

There's no way JDM could get over a sprained ankle that fast. I can't see him playing in the Tampa games of this series. When it happened to me a couple decades ago, I was on crutches for the first 3 days.

Hey all sorry I have been away. I just want to ask ... why is E. Hernandez hitting first? .280 on-base percentage in the lead-off spot? I can't figure it out. Verdugo seems the ideal lead-off hitter, then Bogaerts in the 2 spot, JD in the 3 spot, Devers in the 4 spot, Renfroe in the 5 spot, Vazquez 6th, etc.

Home run? Because in both those stat blocks he has 1 less HR than barrel, so I'm confused what it means still.
