Perfect Hanley year would be for him to hit the 60 day DL, come back and put up MVP numbers and single handedly win the Sox a WS.

(Sorry, just HAD to)

Can you get a blister on your shoulder? Maybe if you corkscrew yourself into the ground on enough swings and your dreds rub back and forth.

This thread is genius

This thread to me is insulting to Hanley and the Sox. Its one thing to believe the sox wil be better off without a 422 million salary for an player with his skills, it quite another to track his at bats and make negative comments day by day. Hope he doesn't read this as it might impact his performance to know the fan base is hoping for his failure.

I assume your post is tongue in cheek. Hanley is an insult to the Red Sox; his presence in the three hole is a joke.

So far, HRam has been no Sultan of the Swing.

Ahh .. good one!

This post has nothing to do with the fan base hoping for his failure. This post is the result of his failure to live up to the contract in 2 of the three years it has been in place. It is also an attempt at humor to bring a little sunshine into Red Sox nation on an otherwise cloudy day.:)

Can’t call it a joke after ONE game guy. Give it a week or two. He did have a walk. And we’ve done great vs archer historically, but he’s not what I would call a slouch.

Its not just one game. It was an entire season last year AND one game this year. Archer is not a slouch, I agree. Ramirez is a slouch.

The three hole doesn't matter. It's like the 10th most important spot in the order.

Ok. Well, Hanram never once batted 3rd last season, so I was assuming you meant this season.

at least the 10th - It has been written

The point is that he should be batting around 7-8th-if he is in the lineup at all. He needs to earn a spot. Over the past year he has not done that.

I agree, and this whole "management will show confidence in you by starting you vs RH'd pitchers, so you will respond positively" rings hollow to me.

Moreland has hit righties pretty well over the years. He's a much better fielder.

Shiiit, if XB is gonna hit like he did yesterday, I’ll take him batting in the 3 hole. I think a lot of our hitters are interchangable though.

I can not disagree with this statement.

Hanley gets a bad rap.

I'm pulling for him to have a monster season. If his option vests, that would be fine by me.

Hanley was injured last year. This year it's a whole new ball game.
