I'm not convinced HRam has sucked due to his attitude, but the fact is, he sucks right now.

I'm saying it's not his attitude. His balky shoulder has been an issue since before the season started. It's why he's barely played 1B. Easy to talk big from the comfort of one's couch. Shoulder problems suck.

He has under performed this season. Hardly unique on this team. But he does get $22. which is absurd.

Can you blame HanRam for signing the contract that was offered to him at $22MM? no

his effort in LF was there until he ran into the sidewall at Fenway fairly early on in that season. he never complained once. it was beyond a stretch to expect him to improve in the outfield after that injury happened and they finally shut it down.

he came back the next spring and trained to play first base. from all accounts he put in the time and worked his ass off to play the position. he never complained once and did (IMO) a great job.

he came back this spring and was asked to play DH. he never complained once.

don't let the dreadlocks sway you. it's OK. they don't mean he isn't "trying".

If he is not hurt, he is done being a big time middle of the order bat. His bat looks slow and he is not the answer at 1B or DH.

I have said many times that Hanley gets a bum rap, maybe because of his 'issues' when he was younger an immature. By all accounts, he has worked hard and has done whatever the team has asked him to do. No, he's not earning his contract right now, but that hardly makes him a sloth.
