@Sean_McAdam

Told by an industry source that while the Red Sox continue to monitor market, they don't anticipate making another deal by 4 pm.

Happy 20th anniversary to the Slocumb trade!

Win some, lose some.:D

Trivia: Of the deals made by the Red Sox and Mariners at the trade deadlines in 1996 and 1997, what player produced the most WAR for his new team (by a wide margin)?

@jcmccaffrey

Dombrowski will meet with the media today at 4:30 p.m.

I have a few things to get off my chest.

One: Farrell is fired. Done. He's gone.

B: Devers will play every single game until he retires.

Also: Eck, I'm sorry Price is a dingaling.

To follow up on my trivia question:

Happy 21st Anniversary of the Darren Bragg trade!

I thought two months of Addison Reed would cost more. Good trade for the Red Sox.

MLB Prospect Watch ranked the traded Boston prospects No. 18, No. 23 and No. 28 in the Red Sox system:

And it may help my fantasy team by turning the Mets closer role over to newly acquired AJ Ramos.

Is that we get, 2 months of control. With the Yankees getting Gray, it is likely that we are playing for a wild card. With Beni and Betts still mired in a slump and Price out for whatever reason, our chances are pretty slim. Looking at the trade in that light you can wonder if it was worth it. In terms of quality it was good, same with Nunez. Can we keep them in contracts in follow on years? Only if we stand up to the bar and that will be difficult.

Another lackluster deadline - across MLB as a whole. As for AL East, Yankees won this hands down. The return for Gray is a headscratcher. Yankees seem to fleece more teams than any other team.

I don't think Reed and Nunez are enough to make a difference as far as playoffs goes.

With the injuries to the prospects the Yanks traded for Gray, it's hard try and figure out what an equal or better Sox package would have had to have been. Hard to imagine getting Gray without giving up Groome, Mata or Chavis.

I'm not sure Travis, Dalbec, Beeks & Lakins would have been enough.

If is isn't Jamie Moyer, I would be very surprised...

Be careful, oldtimer. You're going to injure your shoulder waving that white flag so fast...

Bingo ... we have a winner.

Jamie Moyer posted 34.6 bWAR for the Mariners, Jason Varitek 24.3 bWAR for the Red Sox and Derek Lowe 19.4 bWAR for the Red Sox.

Maybe, but VTek played a long time and had some good WAR years. Lowe gave us 8 years.

That's what happens when you trade a pile of prospects like DD did already...they're not an endless supply.

Amen brother!

Bottom line is dave does not have a strategy or plan. He is a fireman, who spends whatever it takes to put out the fire.

To put it another way, I think desperate/planless dave has a prison fetish.

Because he seems to enjoy getting raped by every guy he deals with and he keeps letting it happen over and over again!!!

Ya - maybe we could return Kimbrel and Sale. I would love to have me some Espinoza, Margot, Dubon, and Moncada as opposed to those two stiffs. lol

Well thank God he didn't trade Devers.

Or any of our other guys that are listed as 6'2" and above. is Ben responsible for drafting all of the little guys or was that Larry? couldn't have been Theo. Who drafted henry owens? he is a tall one anyway.
