Weather is the important issue .... rain, I mean. The former tropical storm (Bonnie) that came in from the Atlantic may have passed by 1 PM. Weather.com says partly cloudy, about 80 degrees with small chance of rain (15 %).

 

Wright's worst game came in the rain. Effected his grip and flight of his pitch.

Tyler Wilson is a very bad pitcher, and his ERA is kind of fluky. All his ERA estimators concur, he should be at 4.5 --- his BABIP is 0.232.

 

Also his SO/9 is awful, 4.64. He doesn't walk people but he allows a lot of bombs HR/FB% is at 12.8%.

 

In fact his ERA in the last month is starting to show what he really is, it is at 4.25.

Swihart is getting his extra base hits. He needs to do that if he wants to keep the LF spot. His catch thhe other day in LF was reminiscent for me of Yaz.

Holt is not a starting LF.....he needs to play the super sub role for this ball club. That will allow the Sox to carry an extra relief pitcher. I'm not convinced our starting rotation is solid. Our bats will cool off at some point.
