Doctor's against surgery too. She's 87, he says it's too risky (and expensive too). Cast and rest.

General anesthesia at that age is a very big risk. Even if they survive the surgery, they can have many other complications that can be life-threatening. My mother in law had 3 surgeries after age 88, and after each surgery her cognitive abilities diminished drastically. These are not easy decisions. I hope that it works out for her.

Make sure to tell her a bunch of people of varying shades of pastiness, whom she has never met, most of whom speak at best ten words of Spanish, and live a thousand miles away are supporting her with all their hearts. I'm sure she will be touched. At least I hope so.

Last year I was thinking Wrights secondary stuff carries him past the "just good" status. He had a few outings last year where he couldn't locate the fastball and he got hit. I'm guestimating on this...... but I thought I noticed it last year.

 

He got hit in the head and missed the last 6 weeks. But you are right that he started putting together a sub-3.00 ERA run'
